Please plan to arrive the night before the safari or early in the morning. Your designated tour driver/guide will pick you up to depart for Bwindi National Park. Experience the thrill of encountering gorillas up close during your trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a habitat that harbors over 300 mountain gorillas. After the gorilla trekking adventure you will transfer to the tranquil Lake Bunyonyi, known as the place of little birds and framed by terraced hills and multiple islands. On the third day you will return to Entebbe for departure.
Arrive early in Entebbe where the assigned professional tour driver-guide will receive you at Entebbe International Airport and depart by road for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes you to southwest Uganda, crossing the equator mark and continuing to Mbarara city for lunch before traversing the hilly terrain of western Uganda into Bwindi. Bwindi is a major habitat for mountain gorillas, harboring over 300 individuals. On arrival you will check in to your accommodation and relax in preparation for the gorilla trekking experience the next day. Overnight at Buhoma Community Haven Lodge (midrange level). Meals: Lunch, dinner. Drive time: Approx. 9 hours.
After breakfast head to the rangers post for a briefing on trekking etiquette before entering the captivating Bwindi Forest. The forest is steep and densely forested with animal trails used for trekking; trekking duration and terrain will be influenced by gorillas movements. Once a gorilla group is located you will have one unforgettable hour observing these gentle yet endangered giants. After trekking return to your accommodation, check out, and transfer to the picturesque Lake Bunyonyi, framed by lush green terraced hills rising to 2,200 2,478m and scattered with 29 islands of various shapes and sizes. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Drive time: Approximately 2-3 hours.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast overlooking the picturesque islands of Lake Bunyonyi before departing and embarking on the journey back to Entebbe. The drive aims to deliver you to Entebbe in the late afternoon or evening to catch your departure flight. Accommodation can be recommended on request. Meals: Breakfast, lunch. Drive time: Approximately 8 hours.
