Pickup from your hotel in Arusha at 8:30am. Your English speaking driver guide will brief you about the trip, then you will drive with a lunch box to Lake Manyara National Park (about 135 km) for a full day game drive with a picnic lunch. Lake Manyara is characterised by giant fig trees, acacia woodlands, mahogany trees and grassy flood plains, with contrasts of open plains, a huge escarpment, Soda Lake, dense woodlands and distant volcanic peaks. Wildlife commonly seen includes elephants, hippos, impalas, giraffe, warthog, wildebeest, blue monkeys and buffaloes, and the park is home to the famous tree climbing lions and leopards. The park provides an excellent introduction to birdlife with over 400 species recorded including pink hued flamingoes, herons, storks and pelicans. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge or similar. Meals provided: Lunch and Dinner.

Early breakfast at 05:30 am, then descend approximately 610 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for about six hours of game viewing with a picnic lunch box. The Crater supports a high density of wildlife where you may spot endangered black rhinos, lions, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest and other wild animals. In the Soda Lake area you will also see many bird species including flamingoes. The abundance of herbivores supports large predators such as lions and leopards and scavengers such as hyenas and jackals. Late evening drive back to Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast depart with a picnic lunch for Tarangire National Park. Tarangire covers approximately 2,600 square kilometers and in dry times the concentration of animals rivals that of the Serengeti with very large numbers of zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and elephants as well as Maasai giraffes and fringe eared oryx. Predators include lions, cheetah and leopards and there are numerous bird species such as green wood hoopoes, fisher lovebirds, white bellied go away birds and giant kingfishers. After game viewing in Tarangire, late evening drive back to Arusha.
