Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Itanagar

(Day 1): It is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh which is dotted with archeological sites of great historical value. There are also institutions of great socio-cultural significance.
Tourist Hotspots:
Gekar Sinyi (Ganga Lake) –
A beautiful natural lake surrounded by landmass of hard rock. The name Gekar Sinyi means ‘confined water’.
Jawaharlal Nehru Museum-
The museum has a rich collection of textiles, weaponry, household articles and handicrafts that reflect the tribal culture and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.
Craft Centre & Emporium-
Located at Itanagar, here one can see and buy local artifacts like wall painting, traditional costumes made of natural vegetable and herbal dye yarns, and attractive utility items made of cane and bamboo.Zoological Park (Zoo) – Located at Chimpu, the park has a variety of fauna including avi-fauna species. Indira Gandhi Park- It is a popular park located at Itanagar
Polo Park-
It is a small botanical garden located on top of a ridge at Naharlagun (the twin capital city).
The city is named after the irregular shaped Itafort (the fort of bricks) which is a centre of attraction located within the heart of Itanagar. The bricks used in the fort with total brickwork of 16,200 cubic metre length dates back to the 14th-15th Century. According to some scholars, these bricks are similar with those made during the reign of Ramachandra of Mayapur who was a king of the Jitari Dynasty.

Day 2 : Ziro

Ziro:
(Day 2 & 3): It is 167 km from Itanagar. Ziro, which is the headquarters of lower Subansiri district, is located 1500 metres above sea level. It is a beautiful hill station as well as one of the oldest towns of the state. Mainly inhabited by the Apatani tribe, this valley is rich in biological diversity. Both sub-tropical and alpine forests are found here along with various types of flora and fauna. The town wears a festive look during festivals celebrated by the Apatani people.
Talley Valley:
It is a wildlife sanctuary as well as a bio-diversity hotspot located at a distance of 32 kms from Ziro towards the north east. Comprising sub-tropical and alpine forests it has a variety of flora and fauna, many of which are endangered. The place offers great trekking opportunities.
Talley Valley Reserved Forest and Talle Wildlife sanctuary is situated at an elevated level with rivers like Pange, Sipu, Karing and Subansiri flowing through the Reserved Forest and Sanctuary. It is home to highly endangered species like clouded leopard. Pleioblastus simone is a bamboo variety only found in Talley Valley.
Shiva Lingam at Kardo Forest:
There is a 25 ft tall and 22 ft wide Shiva lingam in Kardo forest which is located 4 kms from Hapoli town. Large number of devotees throng the spot everyday which was accidently discovered in July 2004

Day 3 : Ziro

Ziro:

Day 4 : Aalo

(Day 4): It is 297 km from Itanagar and is the headquarters of West Siang District. Aalo is situated in a picturesque valley at the confluence of Sipu and Siyom rivers against the backdrop of verdant hills and is one of the oldest towns with a strong educational setup. Some places of tourist attraction here are the Patum Bridge over Yomgo River, Museum and Donyi-Polo Dere. The place is also popular for trekking, hiking and angling
Likabali:
It is 160 km from Itanagar and is a sub-divisional headquarters of West Siang District. Likabali is one of the most widely known and important archaeological sites of the State. It is also the entry point to Arunachal from Silapathar in Dhemaji district of Assam.
Malinithan:
The temple ruins and sculptures here testify the visit of Lord Krishna who stopped over on the way to Dwarka from Bhismaknagar along with his wife Rukmini to grace the hospitality of Malini (a form of Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva’s consort). The temple ruins dating back to 10th and 14th century AD have rich sculptural and architectural value. Beautifully designed and decorated basement of temple, divine images, icons and deities- animal motifs and floral designs, carved columns and panels have been unearthed here. This place used to be a cultural centre of north-east India in the remote past.
