Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Jorhat

Our 5 days Assam tour starts on arrival at Jorhat airport/railway station. Our representative will meet you and assist you to check-in at a traditional tea bungalow(applicable only for Luxury tour package). You can experience the colonial past and the luxury ambience of the bungalow. If you want you can opt for a tea tasting tour in Jorhat at an extra cost.

Later we visit Thengal Cultural Centre & Museum and explore the heritage of Ahom dynasty and also visit one of the oldest temples in Jorhat, Dhekiakhowa Bornaamghar. It is an ancient Neo Vaishnavite temple. The earthen lamp of this temple during the time of inception is still burning for more than 500 years.

Day 2

Jorhat – Majuli

Brahmaputra River

After a traditional breakfast at Jorhat, you will be taken to Majuli, one of the biggest river islands of the world. It takes about 30 minutes by road and 1 hour by ferry to reach this awesome destination. We reach there crossing the mighty Brahmaputra river and experience the blend of scenic beauty and spiritual presence.

Today we will experience the rustic lifestyle and Neo Vaishnavite culture of Majuli.
Start our day with a visit to the main satras(monastery) in the Majuli island namely Auniati satra and Garmur Satra. Satras are the cultural centre of Majuli. Small museums are set up inside satras to preserve antique weapons, utensils, jewellery and other items of cultural significance. Special satrya dance, cultural performances are taught and preserved here.

Later we enjoy a first-hand experience of the mask makers satra - Samaguri Satra. We also visit Mising tribal villages and observe their lifestyle and skill of weaving cloths using handloom.

An authentic Assamese style bamboo hut awaits you for stay during the night.

Day 3

Majuli – Kaziranga

Today early morning we will go to enjoy bird watching in Majuli. The wetland system of Majuli is the safe heaven for varieties of avifauna.
After breakfast, you will return to Jorhat by ferry and then proceed to the pride of Assam, Kaziranga National Park, which houses the unique one-horned rhinoceros and other animals along with special species of migratory birds. Stay amidst the natural warmth of the sanctuary at the resort for the night.

On arrival at Kaziranga check-in at a lodge/resort and take some rest. In the evening enjoy cultural dance performance at Kaziranga.

Day 4

Kaziranga

Kaziranga National Park can keep you busy all day long with its large number of activities. Today you will get a myriad of experiences like elephant safari, a trip around Kaziranga orchid & Biodiversity Park, wonderful lunch and an exciting jeep safari in the evening, before you return to your resort for the night.

Day 5

Kaziranga– Guwahati

From Kaziranga, you will be driven back safely to the Guwahati airport or railway station as per your convenience. Which is a 5 hrs drive amidst scenic surrounding. You will take back some wonderful memories of Assam along with you from here.
