Lake Manyara National Park covers some 330 sq. km. of which about 230 sq. km. is the lake. Along its western boundaries is the Rift Valley’s western wall. The park is famous for its bird life – almost 400 different species, large elephant population and the tree climbing lions. There is also a large variety of tree species in the park. Ngorongoro Crater – a photographer’s paradise. The largest intact crater in the world covering some 265 sq. km. from the rim to the crater floor is a drop of 600 metres. An abundance of wild game including elephants, rhino, cheetahs, lions, leopards, hyenas, cats, jackals, bushbucks, eland, waterbuck, wildebeest, antelope and a large variety of birds. A sight you will always remember. Serengeti National Park is the largest NP in Tanzania and one of the most spectacular parks in the world. The Serengeti covers some 14,763 sq. km. of large plains, short grass plains, kopjes and lakes. The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai language meaning ‘Engless Plain’. Every year more than one million wildebeest travel in long caravans across the plains of the ‘Mighty Serengeti’, all in search of better feeding grounds, followed by a large variety of other animals. Not far behind follow the hungry lions, cheetahs and hyenas. Other predators such as leopards, serval cats and jackals watch the wandering game with interest. Elephants, rhino and buffalo enjoy their grazing. Rain usually falls in April and October. Many of the game births take place during the month of February.
Drive from Moshi to Manyara National Park takes about 4 hours. In Manyara after having a picnic lunch you start the late afternoon game drive which is also the best time to view animals in this park. When you approach it from the East Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon forming an impressive back droid to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, on the escarpment elephants stand in the shade. Other animals frequently seen are zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, hippos and others. Overnight at Twiga campsites full board.

Drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge takes about 3 to 4 hours. Olduvai George is an archaeological site located in the eastern Serengeti plains, in which early human fossils were first discovered. It has the amazing landscape that resulted from the tectonic forces which created the Great Rift Valley million of years ago. Then in the late evening the game drives to Serengeti and overnight at the Ikoma Gorge camp full board.

After breakfast venture into the corners of wilderness Serengeti for a full day game viewing in the park. Picnic lunch besides you, take your leisure while exploring the only truly world heritage site, where largest concentration of plain game on earth still exists! In the late evening back at the Ikoma Gorge camp for rest, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, morning game drives at Serengeti National Park, and then later afternoon drive to Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai Gorge is an archaeological site located in the eastern Serengeti plains, in which early human fossils were first discovered. It has the amazing landscape that resulted from the tectonic forces which created the Great Rift Valley million of years ago. And then drive to Simba campsites for overnight full board.

After breakfast, drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater for half day game drives. This is undoubtedly the best place to see black rhino in Tanzania as well as the prides of lion that includes the magnificent black mined males. There are lots of colourful flamingos and the variety of water birds. Other game-leopard, cheetah, hyena and lots of other members of the antelope family and small mammals of sorts can also be seen here. In the late afternoon drive back to Moshi and the Springlands Hotel or directly to the airport in time for your departure.
