6-Day Cross-Border Safari The Ultimate East African

Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with meet and greet by a professional driver guide followed by a northwest drive toward the Great Rift Valley. Descend the Rift Valley escarpment with a panoramic viewpoint stop for photos then continue through Maasai country and the town of Narok to reach the eastern edge of the Maasai Mara near the Oloolaimutia Gate. Check into Enchoro Wildlife Camp and settle into a semi luxury safari tent. Depending on arrival time undertake an introductory game drive in the golden afternoon light to spot zebras wildebeests and resident predators. Early breakfast and final exit drive through the Maasai Mara to the Isebania Border Post. Clear customs and enter Tanzania meeting a Tanzanian guide who will transfer you in a private 4x4 vehicle. Drive through local villages and along the western corridor into Serengeti National Park with a packed lunch en route as the landscape opens into vast grasslands. Arrive at the ridge top Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge in the Seronera region, relax by the infinity pool overlooking the plains and dine in the grand dining hall.

A full day exploring the wildlife rich Seronera Valley focusing on big cats and kopjes. Morning predator tracking to locate high concentrations of lions leopards and cheetahs. Navigate around ancient granite kopjes which serve as lookouts for big cats. Return to the lodge for lunch and a swim then head back out for a late afternoon safari along riverbanks. Pause at sunset for a classic African sundowner with drinks and snacks before returning to the lodge.

A final dawn game drive through the central plains followed by return to the lodge for breakfast and checkout. Journey southeast ascending into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area highlands with a stop at the crater rim viewpoint for spectacular panoramas. Continue to Arusha arriving in the late afternoon and check in at Mount Meru Hotel set within tropical gardens. The evening is relaxed with dinner at the hotel restaurant or a cocktail by the garden pool bar.

After breakfast enjoy an Arusha city tour including a visit to the vibrant Maasai Market to browse handmade beadwork wood carvings and local crafts and a stop at the Cultural Heritage Centre to view African art sculptures and Tanzanite gemstones.
