7-DAY NORTHERN SERENGETI MIGRATION SAFARI – MARA RIVER CROSSING

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by your safari representative and transferred to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzanias Northern Safari Circuit located at the foot of Mount Meru with lush coffee plantations and scenic landscapes. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax and prepare for the safari. Accommodation is at Arusha Planet Lodge with Dinner and Breakfast included.

After breakfast depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, renowned for giant baobab trees and large elephant populations. The park offers excellent year round game viewing and rich birdlife. Enjoy a full day game drive with a picnic lunch at Tarangire, then continue to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Farm of Dreams Lodge. Meal plan for the day is Full Board including Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.

After breakfast depart Karatu for Serengeti National Park via the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands. As you enter the Serengeti ecosystem the landscape transforms into endless plains. Enjoy en route game viewing while traveling toward Central Serengeti Seronera region, renowned for abundant resident wildlife and strong predator populations. Accommodation is at Into Wild Serengeti Camp with Full Board including Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.

After breakfast enjoy a game drive as you travel north through Serengeti National Park toward the Kogatende region in Northern Serengeti. During migration season vast herds of wildebeest and zebras move through this area in search of greener pastures. Expect wildlife sightings and scenic views en route before arriving in Northern Serengeti where Mara River crossings create dramatic spectacles. Accommodation is at Heritage Mara Kogatende Camp with Full Board including Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.

Spend a full day exploring Northern Serengeti tracking Great Migration herds around the Mara River. Between July and October thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather along the riverbanks before attempting perilous crossings into Kenyas Maasai Mara ecosystem. Witness dramatic river crossings often featuring Nile crocodiles and predators, and enjoy sightings of elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs and many bird species. Accommodation remains at Heritage Mara Kogatende Camp with Full Board including Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.

After breakfast enjoy a final game drive in Northern Serengeti before beginning the journey south through the Serengeti ecosystem. Continue game viewing while taking in spectacular landscapes en route. Arrive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the late afternoon to enjoy panoramic highland views and prepare for the crater safari the following day. Accommodation is at Embalakai Ngorongoro Camp with Full Board including Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.

After an early breakfast descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and extraordinary wildlife sanctuary. The crater floor supports an incredible concentration of wildlife including lions elephants buffaloes hippos hyenas and endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a game drive with a picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending the crater walls and returning to Arusha in the afternoon where the safari concludes. Meals included are Breakfast and Lunch.
