After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Punakha and Wangdue. One-way distance: Approx. 70 km Travel Time: Approx. 2 hours En route, visit Simtokha Dzong and continue towards Wangduephodrang. Stop at the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 metres), which offers spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges on a clear day. Continue towards Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. OR TIGER’S NEST HIKE – OPTIONAL OPTION 1: CHELE LA PASS After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Chele La Pass, situated at an elevation of approximately 3,988 metres and considered one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. Enjoy the scenic drive through thick forests and breathtaking mountain landscapes. From the pass, you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Jomolhari and Jichu Drake, subject to weather conditions. The pass is also known for its colourful prayer flags and beautiful seasonal flora. After sightseeing, return to the hotel. Overnight Stay: Paro OR OPTION 2: TIGER’S NEST HIKE After breakfast, drive approximately 12 km north of Paro to the starting point of the Taktshang Monastery, popularly known as Tiger’s Nest. Tiger’s Nest is one of Bhutan's most iconic and sacred landmarks. The monastery can be reached by hiking, which generally takes approximately 2–3 hours one way, depending on individual fitness and pace. After completing the hike, return to the hotel and relax.
