Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your accommodations in Moshi. Enjoy the evening at your hotel, where you can rest and prepare for your upcoming trek. This is a great opportunity to meet your guides and discuss any final preparations.

After breakfast, you’ll be driven to the Rongai Gate, where your adventure begins. The trek starts with a gentle ascent through lush montane forest. As you hike, you'll enjoy the tranquil surroundings and occasional wildlife sightings. After about 4-5 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Simba Camp, nestled in a picturesque location with stunning views of the mountain. Enjoy a hot meal and rest for the night.

Today, the trail continues through the rolling moorland and heather zone, offering expansive views of the plains and the mountain. The hike is moderately challenging and takes approximately 5-6 hours. You’ll arrive at Kikelelwa Camp, set amidst a scenic landscape with unique rock formations. Spend the evening acclimating and preparing for the ascent to higher altitudes.

The trek today involves a steeper ascent as you leave the moorland behind and head towards the alpine desert zone. The path offers spectacular views of the Mawenzi Peak and the surrounding landscapes. After a 4-5 hour hike, you’ll arrive at Mawenzi Tarn Camp, located near a tarn lake at the base of Mawenzi Peak. The camp provides stunning views and an opportunity to acclimate to the higher altitude.

The summit day begins early with a challenging ascent to Uhuru Peak. After a pre-dawn start, you'll navigate the icy and rocky terrain of the final push to the summit. Reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and in Africa, is a rewarding experience with panoramic views and a sense of accomplishment. Following your summit celebration, you'll descend to Horombo Hut, passing through the Kibo Hut area for a brief rest. The total trekking time for this day is around 12-14 hours, so be prepared for a long and demanding day.

On the final day, you'll trek from Horombo Hut back down to the Rongai Gate. The descent takes about 6-7 hours, traversing through lush forest and enjoying the return to lower elevations. At the gate, you’ll receive your summit certificate and celebrate the successful completion of your climb. You’ll then be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi for a well-deserved rest and a celebratory dinner.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and take some time to relax or do any last-minute shopping in Moshi. Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.
