Here you'll get to experience lively streets, tasty local food, and busy markets and museums. More than anything else, it's a window into life in a provincial Tanzanian city.

Many travelers rate Tarangire among their favorite national parks anywhere in Tanzania. Here in Tarangire, you can look for lions, leopards, and cheetahs. But you won’t have to look hard to see baboons, vervet monkeys, wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. And you’ll come across elephants and baobabs everywhere, two giants of the African bush. Also an enjoyable part of your Tarangire experience will be the rolling savannah scenery, which includes rivers and low hills. And while it can get busy, crowds of cars will not be a problem here.
You'll be staying at Eileen's Trees Inn, a deservedly popular place down a quiet side street and an easy walk from the Karatu town center. The inn has gorgeous, shade-filled gardens, quiet, nicely decorated rooms and a good restaurant. It may not be fancy, but it gets all of the important things right and it's one of the best places to stay between Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara.

Ngorongoro is a special place and the first time that you descend onto the crater floor is like no other safari experience in Africa. This is a world unto itself, one where you’ll encounter the crater’s 600-strong population of hyenas, as well as critically endangered black rhinos. You’ll also find elephants with larger-than average tusks, and more than 50 lions living in the crater. But it’s the sheer beauty of Ngorongoro that will most likely live longest in your memory. From early morning, mist rises from the crater, revealing steep, forested walls, secret waterways where hippos wallow, and a world of abundant wildlife hidden away from the rest of the world.

Wake up early in the morning and set out for an exciting sunrise game drive in the Serengeti. This is one of the best times to spot predators returning from a night of hunting, as well as herds of grazers starting their day on the endless plains. After enjoying the magical morning light and wildlife activity, return to the lodge/camp for breakfast. Later, continue your journey with a scenic drive back towards Karatu, passing through beautiful landscapes and possibly spotting more wildlife along the way. Arrive in Karatu by late afternoon or evening for rest and overnight stay.

Zanzibar Island is a fascinating place to explore. The long, beautiful beaches that hem in this tropical Indian Ocean island are a big part of its appeal. Another highlight is the atmospheric old Stone Town, a time warped knot of winding alleys that leads past some fine historic buildings and bustling spice-laden markets. Offshore, a series of fringing reefs and coral gardens offers wonderful snorkeling and diving too.
Kick off your shoes and relax by the ocean at Mwezi Boutique Resort, on Zanzibar's southeastern coast.
Accommodation is in stunning beach huts built with sustainable local materials and decorated with the works of local artists. Swim in the inviting pool, enjoy the sand floored bar, and dine on local seafood in the restaurant.
