8-Day Uganda Wildlife, Gorilla & Chimp Trekking Safari

Pickup by the driver guide from your hotel or the airport after a briefing and drive westwards to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop at the equator in Kayabwe for a photo moment and refreshments. Continue to Mbarara for lunch then proceed to Lake Mburo where you will check in at Mburo Safari Lodge, relax for the evening, have dinner and overnight in full board accommodation.

After breakfast undertake a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park offering opportunities to see antelopes, buffaloes, leopards, warthogs and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch then enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo viewing water species such as hippos and crocodiles. End the day with dinner and overnight at Mburo Safari Lodge.

After early breakfast drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a stop for lunch en route at a selected restaurant. Drive through the Kigezi region snake roads enjoying views of African hills, green banana plantations and friendly local people. Check in at Bahoma Community Haven Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Early breakfast and drive to the gorilla tracking briefing point with your packed lunch. After the briefing set off to track and meet mountain gorillas in the forest and enjoy time observing these closest giants to humans. Return to the lodge after tracking. If time allows in the evening you can walk in the Batwa community to see how they live. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Haven Lodge.

After breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector with lunch en route. In the Ishasha sector you will have the chance to spot tree climbing lions and other wildlife including elephants and giraffes. Dinner and overnight stay at Baboon Safari Resort.

Early morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains trail targeting predators and plains animals as they move, with sightings possible of lions, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks, leopards and crater lakes. After lunch enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel connecting Lake George and Lake Edward to see elephants at the banks, schools of hippopotamuses, crocodiles, buffaloes, waterbucks and many water birds such as great cormorant, pied kingfisher and African fish eagle. In the evening drive to Kibale National Park and check in at Kibale Forest Camp for dinner and overnight.

After early breakfast attend briefing and start chimpanzee tracking accompanied by bird watching through the tropical forest. The forest offers outstanding scenery and opportunities to see birds such as the tinker bird and great blue turaco and other primates including black and white colobus monkeys and vervet monkeys. Have lunch at a restaurant in the park then return to Kibale Forest Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Early breakfast then drive back towards Kampala with lunch en route while enjoying final landscape views. Reach Kampala in the afternoon where you will spend last moments with the guide who will transfer you to the airport for your international flight or to your hotel, concluding the safari in central Uganda and ending in Entebbe as indicated in the itinerary.
