Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival Ahmedabad

  Your Gujarat Buddhist tour begins when you reach Ahmedabad Airport. On arrival, you will meet the tour representative and get an assisted transfer to your pre-booked hotel. After arriving there, you will complete your check-in formalities and head towards your room. Take a rest for a while and enjoy the facilities of this hotel. Once you unwind yourself, you will go out to enjoy the sightseeing tour of the Lalbhai Museum. Later, get back to your hotel and have your lip-smacking dinner, and enjoy an overnight stay in the hotel.

• Day 2 : Ahmedabad – Vadnagar – Taranga – Shamla Ji – Ahmedabad

  Wake up in the morning and have your tasty morning meal. Once you finish your breakfast, you will get a straight drive to Shamla Ji, which takes around 3 hours from Ahmedabad. It is a significant Hindu pilgrimage center in the Aravalli district. On your way, you will stop at Taranga and Vadnagar and enjoy the view from the Taranga hill. After reaching Shamla Ji, you will proceed to Devni Mori, which is a Buddhist archaeological site and about 2 km from the city of Shamlaji. You will see 3rd, and 4th-century remains of Stupas persist and 4 carved images of Buddha on a plate that attracts Buddhist from all over the country. Later, you will drive back to Ahmedabad. You will visit the MS University of Vadodara, which is a hub of Buddhist relics and remains, which are recovered from Northern Gujarati sites and Devni Mori. Next, you will move towards Bharuch, where you will be taken to Kadia Dungar, a group of ancient caves dating back to the 1st and 2nd Century AD and a dignified representation of Buddhist Architecture. • Day 4 : Vadodara – Talaja – Diu

  Get up early in the morning and enjoy your crunchy and tasty breakfast. Check out from the hotel and leave for Bhavnagar. You will visit Talaja Hills that holds the importance of Buddhism as there are about 30 ancient Buddhist caves cut into rocks. It is a 320 feet high hill town that also has a fine carving of Bodhisattva. The highlight of this hill is Ebhala Mandapa, which is a large hall that has four octagonal pillars. You also find a notable Jain temple on a hill alongside the town. The majestic caves are about 2000 years old and it requires around 15-20 min. walk up the hill to reach them.
