8 Nights / 9 Days
The 7-day Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and least crowded trails to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Known for its gradual ascent and excellent acclimatization profile, this route takes you through diverse landscapes, from dense rainforests to high-altitude deserts, before reaching the iconic Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters. With breathtaking panoramic views and fewer trekkers, the Lemosho Route offers an unforgettable experience for those aiming to conquer Africa’s highest mountain.
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be warmly welcomed by Safari Spirit Journeys and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Here, you’ll receive a detailed briefing, complete a gear check, and finalize preparations for your trek. The rest of the day is yours to relax and acclimate to the environment. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, a scenic drive takes you to Londorossi Gate (2,100m) for registration. From there, you’ll proceed to the Lemosho trailhead. The trek begins through a beautiful and dense rainforest, where you may spot blue monkeys and Colobus monkeys in the trees. The path is gradual, allowing you to ease into the hike before arriving at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820m), where you’ll spend the night under the forest canopy.

The day begins with the exciting climb up the Barranco Wall, a non-technical but steep ascent that rewards you with spectacular views. This short trekking day aids in further acclimatization, ensuring your body is well-prepared for the higher altitudes ahead.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Accommodation: Karanga Camp
After breakfast, the trek continues towards Barafu Camp (4,673m), the base camp for your summit push. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Accommodation: Barafu Camp
The summit push begins around midnight, with a slow and steady climb towards Stella Point (5,739m) on the crater rim.
