This 13-day, 12 overnights tour across three countries, Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro, includes some of the most beautiful locations on this stretch of the Balkans. The journey starts with a tour of Slovenia, its charming capital city Ljubljana and a guided exploration of Postojna Cave’s underground world. Next, Zagreb unveils a delightful mix of medieval history and trendy, vibrant neighborhoods lined up with restaurants and shops. A visit to the 16 cascading lakes of the Plitvice Lakes National Park is a must while on a tour of Croatia, before continuing to the Adriatic coastline. Experience the most beautiful sunset in the World in the historic Zadar before stepping back into history on a guided tour of the Diocletian’s Palace in Split. Discover Korcula, the birthplace of world explorer, Marco Polo. Mingle with locals and visitors alike in the narrow streets of Old Town Dubrovnik, and take in the views of the Elaphiti Islands and the Adriatic from atop the Srdj Mountain. The adventure ends with a tour of Montenegro, and the unrivaled beauty of Kotor Bay’s wild nature.

Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Ljubljana, Arrival Day

    The adventure begins in the capital of Slovenia, the lovely Ljubljana. Upon arrival to the city center, meet your guide for the walking tour including the historic city center, a funicular ride to the Ljubljana Castle and lunch. Rest of the day at leisure.

    Overnight in Ljubljana.

  • Day 2 : Postojna Cave OR Lake Bled - Zagreb

    This morning we depart Ljubljana for a panoramic drive to Postojna Cave. The most visited site in Slovenia, Postojna Cave is an underground kingdom of tunnels, galleries and chambers crowned in sparkling stalactites and stalagmites, which visitors can observe from the only two track underground railway in the World. Upon arrival, marvel at the wondrous underground landscapes of the Postojna Caves on a guide tour. After visiting the caves, enjoy lunch before continuing to Zagreb. Evening in Zagreb at leisure.

    Option 2- Lake Bled

    Depart Ljubljana in the morning and drive to Lake Bled. Enjoy a boat ride and visit to the islet of St. Mary and its’ historic church. The group will enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant and some time at leisure before the journey continues to Zagreb.

  • Day 3 : Zagreb

    No better way to kick of a tour of Croatia’s highlights than a guided walking tour of the capital city. Guests join our expert local guide on a city discovery tour including Zagreb Upper Town, Lotrscak Tower, St. Mark’s Square, Parliament Building, Stone Gate, Strossmayer Promenade and more city sites. Tour of the iconic Mirogoj Cemetery and the unique Museum of Broken Relationships included. Afternoon is at leisure, offering the travelers an opportunity to seek out activities that best suit their interests.

    Overnight in Zagreb.

    Please note:
    In the afternoon we can organize a transfer to one of many Zagreb’s shopping malls as Zagreb offers best shopping opportunities. Or we can organize a Licitar heart workshop/ presentation. Licitar hearts are one of most recognized symbols of continental Croatia, and also one of favorite souvenirs in this part of the country.

  • Day 4 : Plitvice Lakes National Park

    Today the tour departs Zagreb in the morning to drive Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO site and most popular national park in the country. Spend the morning on a guided walking tour of the park including a lake boat ride. About a million people, the most of any Croatian park, visit here each year and with a reason. Situated in the mountainous Gorski Kotar region, the National Park covers almost 115 square miles of wooded area including 16 lakes. The cascading lakes are divided into 12 Upper and 4 Lower Lakes, all encircled with walking paths that lead through the woods, along the lakes, caves and mesmerizing seemingly never ending array of waterfalls that culminate with the Great Waterfall.

  • Day 5 : Zadar

    Depart Plitvice Lakes in the morning and enjoy mountainous landscapes giving way to Adriatic vistas on a drive to Zadar. Coastal Zadar offers an intriguing mix of ancient history and modern spectacles like the Sea Organ and Sun Salutation installations. Upon arrival, travelers will delve into the history of this unique coastal town on a guided walking tour among its ancient Roman sites, vibrant narrow alleys, and stunning coastal front known to have the most beautiful sunset in the world. In the afternoon, after lunch at a family farm, continue to Maskovic Han, the largest Ottoman monument (old times hotel) in Croatia dating from 17th century.

  • Day 6 : Pag Island

    Today explore the pristine Zadar region. First stop for today will be the island of Pag, best known for its award winning sheep cheese. Visit the cheese factory and taste some of their specialties. Afterwards, visit the Museum of Lace, another Croatian heritage under UNESCO protection and see how local women produced this magnificent artwork. Upon return we propose a scenic boat ride to Preko, just across historic part of Zadar. In the small village you'll enjoy a local musical performance with refreshment and traditional sweets. Afterwards sail to Zadar to the Sea Organ, designed by local architect Nikola Basic and installed in 2005. Made up of 35 pipes with underwater whistles set inside smooth white-stone steps, Sea Organ creates constantly changing sounds depending on the movement of the sea, which in turn is influenced by the waves, the tide, the wind, and passing ships.

  • Day 7 : Zadar - Sibenik - Trogir

    En route stop in Sibenik and view the Cathedral, one of the most important Gothic architectural monuments in the eastern Adriatic, and also UNESCO World Heritage site. Stop in village Jurlinovi Dvori, a wonderful example of rural architecture and traditional lifestyle. Enjoy lunch in the village, before you continue to Split. Another stop we will be make in Trogir, one of the most enchanting medieval towns in the Adriatic. Many of its immaculately preserved medieval stone buildings represent the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic architecture in the Adriatic. The town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997.

  • Day 8 : Split

    Half through this journey, guests will spend a day exploring Split, the historic center of Dalmatia region. A guided walking tour includes Diocletian’s Palace, the historic core of the city, Roman monuments, sacral sites, the popular Riva and Split’s always vibrant narrow alleys lined with boutiques, restaurants and coffee bars. Afternoon at leisure.

  • Day 9 : Korcula

    Today we head to the island of Korcula. The town of the same name is a masterwork of architecture and urban planning where everything is built according to a plan. The layout of the town streets reminds of a fishbone in order to take advantage of the different winds to clear the air – something like a natural air conditioning system. Before you proceed for a walking tour, stop at a typical, family owned tavern for tasty lunch.

  • Day 10 : Dubrovnik

    Enjoy a pleasant ferry and then bus ride along the Peljesac Peninsula en route to Dubrovnik. Stop in Ston, a medieval town with defensive city walls. They are 5 km long and are one of the longest defensive walls in the world. Interesting are also the ancient saltpans that were in use during the Dubrovnik Republic, where the salt is still produced. However when you mention Ston in Croatia, people usually think of the oysters. Oyster farms are all around the area. Upon arrival in Mali Ston to board local boat which will take you to oyster & mussel beds. Your host will welcome you on board and introduce you with oyster & mussel planting in this area. You will have unique opportunity to get in touch with oyster & mussel production. After lunch proceed to Dubrovnik for a walking tour. Travelers will step into centuries of history among the cobbled streets of the Old Town on a guided walking tour of the city. Even though small in size, the Old Town hides many intriguing nooks and crannies not to be missed. A great way to scoop out the layout of the city is to take the electric cart up to the summit of Mount Srdj, which looks out across the city to Adriatic and back over the mountains of Herzegovina.

  • Day 11 : Dubrovnik

    Today enjoy sailing from Dubrovnik, along the Dubrovnik Riviera to Cavtat. Continue to the atelier of a local artist, Antonia Ruskovic, where you'll take part in silk workshop. You will be served herbal tea made from herbs that the artist grows herself and a traditional cake. Learn the traditional way of silk production that can be rarely seen anywhere else in the world anymore. After lunch in a local restaurant, located by the river in set of 16th century mills, continue to a small family winery which nowadays produces Malvasija wine, which was drank by the Rectors of Dubrovnik Republic in the old days.

  • Day 12 : Montenegro

    Today explore the Gulf of Kotor, the deepest fjord in Southern Europe. Be prepared for the unrivaled view of this narrow waterway backed by soaring mountains. This morning we depart historic Dubrovnik and take a panoramic drive along Adriatic Coast to another beautiful coastal town, Kotor. En route, as we pass the stunning Boka Kotorska bay, travelers will take a boat across the pristine bay to visit Our Lady of the Rocks, a tiny island, home to a splendid Baroque church. The narrow streets in Kotor's old quarter are highlights of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Much of the architecture in Kotor is of Venetian origin with distinctive doors, windows and balconies.

  • Day 13 : Dubrovnik

    Spend the day at leisure and discover your favorite spots around Dubrovnik on your own. Visit the 14th-century Franciscan monastery and its Old Pharmacy Museum, one of the oldest in the world. Climb the steps up and take your time to walk along the City Walls, to enjoy the unparalleled views of the Old Town and the sea. Find the opening in the wall and sip on a cold drink in the unique Buza bar, set on the outside rocks of the city walls.

    In the late afternoon proceed to the village of Slano for farewell dinner, tasty local specialties and musical entertainment.
