Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival

  Pick up your rental car this morning in Anchorage and head east along the Glenn Highway to Copper Center.
  Matanuska Glacier along the Glenn Highway

• Day 2 : Kennicott area

  This day is free to explore the Copper River Valley/Kennicott area. You can use your rental car to drive south to Valdez (approx 110 miles) or take one of the river rafting or guided ATV trips available in the area. Overnight in Copper Center.
  Copper River Princess Lodge.

• Day 3 : Kennicott area

  Drive from Copper Center to Fairbanks along the historic Richardson Highway today. Your route will follow the trans-Alaska Pipeline. Overnight in Fairbanks.

• Day 4 : Fairbanks

  The day is free in Fairbanks. Recommended is a visit to the historic mining district of Fox and the optional trip on the Riverboat Discovery. Overnight in Fairbanks.

• Day 5 : Denali Park

  Return your car to the Fairbanks airport. Take the free shuttle to the Alaska Railroad depot and board Alaska Railroad south to Denali Park. Overnight in Denali Park.
  Depart: 8:15 am Arrive 12:00 noon

• Day 6 : Denali Park

  The day is free in Denali Park for the optional shuttle trip into park. Return to your lodgings at the park entrance this afternoon. Overnight Denali Park.

• Day 7 : Departure

  The morning is free in Denali Park. Board the Alaska Railroad southbound for Anchorage today. Weather permitting, view s of Mt. McKinley are spectacular along the Susitna River Valley.
