Day 1 : Leh- Indus Valley:

Morning After Breakfast, We Will Take You to a Guided Tour of the Monasteries of the Indus Valley. Your Excursion Would Include Visits To, Hemis (45 Kms. South of Leh) Built On a Green Hillside Surrounded By Spectacular Mountains, Hemis is the Biggest and the Most Important Monastery in Ladakh. It Was Built in the 17th Century By Chapgon Gyalshas and Ever Since Has Enjoyed the Patronage of the Royal Family. Hemis is the Headquarter of the Drukpa Order and all the Monasteries Throughout Ladakh are Administered By It. this Wealthiest Monastery Contains Gold Statues and Stupas Decorated with Precious Stones and Many Priceless Old Thankas. Thiksey (25 Kms South of Leh)thiksey,One of the Most Imposing Monasteries Belonging to the 15th Century, Stands On a Crag Overlooking the Flood Plain On the East Bank of the Indus. the Monastery Belongs to Elugpa Order (yellow Sect) and is a 12- Storey Monastery Painted Deep Red, Ochre and White with Typical Tapering Walls. There is a 15m High Buddha Figure At the Entrance of the New Temple. the Layout of the Monastery Complex Resembles the Potala Palace in Lhasa. Shey (15 Kms South of Leh)on the East Bank of the Indus River Lies the Beautiful Shey Monastery. Up to the 16th Century It Was the Royal Palace. Overnight Stay At diskit. lamayuru is a Tibetan Buddhist Gompa (monastery) in Kargil District, Western ladakh, India, Situated On the Srinagar - Kargil - Leh Road 15 Km East of The fotu La, At a Height of 3,510 M. the Indian Scholar Mahasiddhacarya Naropa (956-1041 Ce), Allegedly Caused a Lake which Filled the Valley to Dry Up and Founded Lamayuru Monastery. the Oldest surviving Building At Lamayuru is a Temple Called Seng-ge-sgang, At the Southern end of the Lamayuru Rock, Which is Attributed to the Famous Builder-monk Rinchen zangpo (958-1055 Ce). Rinchen Zangpo Was Charged By the King of Ladakh to Build 108 Gompas, and Certainly Many Gompas (monasteries) in Ladakh, Spitiand The surrounding Regions, Date from His Time. Lamayuru is One of the Largest and Oldest Gompas in Ladakh, with a Population Of around 150 Permanent Monks Resident.it Has, in the Past, Housed Up to 400 Monks, many of Which are Now Based in Gompas in Surrounding Villages. Lamayuru is Host to Two Annual Masked Dance Festivals, in the Second and Fifth Months of The tibetan Lunar Calendar, When all the Monks from These Surroundinggompas Gather together to Pray. Alchi is a Small Village with Several Tourist Homestays, Most Offering Modern Conveniences for Overnight Stays, the Best Time to Visit is from June to September. Overnight in a Hotel At Leh.

Day 4 : Leh - Pangong (4,350 M): Drive 185 Kms

Early morning after breakfast drive to Pangong lake.

Pangong Tso "long, narrow, enchanted lake" is anendorheic lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 m (14,270 ft). It is 134 km (83 mi) long and extends from India to Tibet. 60% of the length of the lake lies in China. The lake is 5 km (3.1 mi) wide at its broadest point. All together it covers 604 km2. During winter the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water.

The lake is in the process of being identified under the Ramsar Convention as a wet land of international importance. This will be the first trans-boundary wetland in South Asia under the convention.

Cancellation policy:

Cancellations must be notified in writing on the name of Shikhar Travels India And same is mailed at tours@shikhar.com. Cancellation fees are applied to the following timetable:

Cancellation made prior to 91 days or more, 10% of the money deposited as advance or Rs. 4000/- p. p whichever is higher.

61 - 90 days: 25% of the total invoice

31 - 60 days: 50% of the total invoice

07 -30 days: 75% of the total invoice

01 - 06 days: full retention and will be treated as no show client

In certain cases the cancellation policy (including conditions applicable on the advance deposit made/required for holding the reservation) may differ & would be applicable as per the cancellation policy of that hotel / Service provider. This will be charged over & in addition to the cancellation policy.
