Amarnath cave is a famous shrine in Hinduism located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is dedicated to Shiva. The shrine forms an important part of Hinduism, and is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism. The cave is surrounded by snowy mountains. The cave itself is covered with snow most time of the year except for a short period of time in summer when it is open for pilgrims. An annual pilgrimage is made to the Amarnath cave by lakhs of Hindu devotes on challenging mountainous terrain to see an ice stalagmite formed inside the cave. Inside the 40 m(13o ft) high Amarnath cave, an ice stalagmite gets formed due to freezing of water drops that fall from the roof of the cave on to the floor and grows up vertically from the cave floor. It is considered to be a Shiva Linga by devout Hindus. It waxes during May to August as snow melts in the Himalayas above the cave and the resultant water seeps into the rocks that form the cave and gradually wanes thereafter. As per the religious beliefs. it has been claimed that the lingam grows and shrinks with the phases of the moon reaching its height during the summer festival. According a Hindu legend, this is the cave where Shiv explained the secret of life and eternity to his divine consort Parvati. Two other ice formations represent Parvati and Shiva's son, Ganesha.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 Srinagar Sonmarg

On Arrival at Srinagar airport you will be met by our representatives and leave to Sonmarg which is known as "Gateway of Ladakh". On the way visit many beautiful places like Maamar, Sindh View, discovery point. Enjoy pony ride in Sonmarg to visit Thajwas Glacier where snow remains round the year. Evening return back to sonmarg. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2 Sonmarg Amarnath Cave Baltal

After early breakfast leave for Shree Amarnath darshan by foot or by Helicopter. And return back in the evening. Over night at tents.

Day 3 Baltal Srinagar

After early morning leave for Srinagar and reach House Boat. And after refreshing leave for the sightseeing of famous Mughal Gardens like Nishant, Shalimar, Cheshmashahi, Parimahal & Shankar Achariya Temple. Evening return back to Hotel. Overnight at House Boat.

Day 4 Srinagar - Gulmarg - Srinagar

Full day trip to Gulmarg which is at a distance of 56 kms & will be covered in about 2 hrs. Gulmarg is famous for Gandola Ride which is 14000ft above sea level. Chair Lifts are now open from Kongdori to Marry Shoulder. Evening Return back to Srinagar. Overnight stay at Hotel / House Boat.

Day 5 Srinagar - Airport Drop

After early breakfast leave For Airport for onwards journey. Due to multiple security reasons at Srinagar Airport you should reach Airport 02 hrs prior to departure.
