Assam Meghalaya Tour

On arrival meet the representative at the airport and drive to Kamakhya Temple on Nilachal Hill for darshan and panoramic views of the city and the Brahmaputra River. Consider purchasing a VIP pass to reduce waiting times. After darshan visit nearby temples and cultural sites including Umananda Temple, Balaji Temple, Sankardev Kalashetra and Basistha Ashram. Overnight in Guwahati.

Take a morning trip to the tea gardens located about 20 minutes from Guwahati. Visit the Amchong tea estate noted for quality tea production and large annual capacity, have lunch by the factory side. After lunch return to the city and visit the local fancy Bazar. Optionally enjoy a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra at your own cost. Overnight in Guwahati.

After breakfast start the journey towards Shillong the Scotland of the East. En route visit Umiam Lake and Don Bosco Museum. Arrive Shillong and check in to the hotel. In the afternoon enjoy local sightseeing including Lady Hydari Park, Wards Lake, the Golf Course, the Cathedral, Elephant Falls, Shillong Peak and Sweet Falls. Overnight at Shillong.

Morning after breakfast proceed for a full day excursion to Cherrapunjee. Visit multiple scenic spots and natural attractions including Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Caves, Thangkharang Park, Indian Airforce Museum, Aquata Valley Viewpoint, Ramkrishna Mission, Seven Sister Falls, Arwah Cave, David Scott Memorial Stone, Mawkdok Dympep Valley, Mawmluh Caves or Krem Mawmluh and Kynrem Falls. Overnight at Cherrapunjee.

Early morning proceed to Mawlynnong, acclaimed as the cleanest village in Asia. Visit the Living Root Bridge, explore local treehouses and village attractions, and proceed to Dawki to visit the Bangladesh border area. Overnight stay in the area.

After breakfast either proceed to Kransuri Waterfalls or Phephe Waterfalls and return to Shillong, or alternatively proceed to Laitlum Canyon and visit Mawplang sacred forest. Return to Shillong for overnight stay.

After breakfast proceed to Kaziranga National Park approximately 7 hours drive. Upon arrival check in to your accommodation near the park. In the evening there is an option to enjoy a folk dance on request. Overnight near Kaziranga.

Wake up early for an elephant safari around 5:30 AM or 6:30 AM in the Central or Western Range offering a close up perspective of wildlife especially the one horned rhinoceros. Visit the Kaziranga National Orchid and Biodiversity Park to explore orchids and local flora. In the afternoon embark on a jeep safari in one of the ranges, with the Western Range known for rhinos and the Central Range as the main tourist area. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight near Kaziranga.

After breakfast depending on your schedule visit a nearby tea garden such as Hathikuli Tea Estate or the scenic Kakochang Waterfall before heading back to Guwahati for your onward journey. Conclude the tour with memories of Assam and Meghalaya.
