Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 :

    09:00 – 13:00 City center sightseeing
    13:00 – 14:00 Lunch time (not included into the price)
    14:00 – 16:00 Sightseeing at Bazaar; Concert Hall
    We start our tour at the main Ala Too Square. The guide meets you under the flag at 9:00 am.
    The sightseeing tour is mainly walking. We start from the very Heart of our capital – Ala Too Square. We walk around to see Parliament House, Lenin Statue, White House, Manas Monument. Visit Frunze Museum (close on Mondays). Later we continue across Erkindik Boulevard, Open air art gallery and Oak Park to see Opera House, Victory Square and Eternal Flame. We can visit ZUM department store for souvenirs. Getting to the local Osh Bazaar (closed on Mondays) takes us about half an hour driving. We will stroll across the colorful rows of fruit and vegetables, nuts and sweets, pastry and grains, meat and cheese. This is a really nice photo opportunity!
    Returning to the central district we finish our excursion at Manas Square where we can see the buildings of Concert Hall, Kyrgyz National University, City Hall and statues of the Heroes from our famous epic poem – “Manas”.
    Proceed to Supara Ethno Complex for dinner with Folk Show (Optionally!).

  • Day 2 :

    09:00 – 10:00 Drive to Ala Archa National Park
    10:00 – 15:00 Hike up to the Ratsek Hut
    15:00 free time around the hut area
    Our guide and driver meet you at Ala Too Square under the flag at 9am. We drive to Ala Archa National Park located in a picturesque gorge of Ala Archa 40 km of Bishkek. Please have some snacks or food with you for lunch for this day; Lunch box from the company is also available for extra charge).
    It is a popular place for hiking, skiing and mountaineering including trips to more than 20 glaciers. It covers the area of 200 km2 – mostly forested valleys, waterfalls and rivers rich in trout. The altitude of ranges varies from 1500m to the highest point 4895m (Peak Semenov Tien Shanskii). Several rare species of fauna and especially traditionally revered juniper trees are under protection in the Natural Park. It has very diverse fauna: mountain meadows are the habitat for wild goats, deer and marmots. Ala Archa National Park is one of the few places of the habitat of the rare snow leopard.
    Upon arrival to the park zone hike up along the river to the Ratsek Hut.
    Dinner and overnight at the hut.

  • Day 3 :

    13:00 – 17:00 Descend
    17:00 – 18:00 Return to Bishkek
    After breakfast climb a bit upper where a breathtaking panoramic view opens up. You will see Ak Sai Glacier and several 4000+ peaks.
    Ratsek Hut is a name familiar to any fan of climbing who have ever been to the Natural Park Ala Archa. Ratsek cabin was originally a small stone building that served as a safe shelter for hikers and climbers on their way. Now it is a base camp, located at an altitude of 3400 m, on the way to the glacier Ak-Sai. The place is very convenient because here you can easily set the tent, start climbing the highest peaks, or take part in mountaineering and climbing trainings.
    After lunch around 1pm we start descending to the parking place where we get on our car/ bus and return to Bishkek.
    Optionally: dinner at Supara Ethno Complex with flok show.
    Those who does not want to go for dinner, bus will drop you back at Ala Too Square.

  • Day 4 :

    09:00 – leave Bishkek
    10:00 – 11:00 visit of Burana Tower
    11:00 – 12:00 arrival to rafting
    13:00 – 15:00 rafting time
    16:00 – arrival to guest house for dinner and overnight
    Our guide and driver meet you at the Ala Too Square under the flag at 9am. Today we visit one of the World Heritage sites in Kyrgyzstan – Burana Museum Complex.
    Burana is a tower built in the ancient Balasagun city, one of the capitals of the Qarahanids State of the 11th and 12th centuries BC. We explore the ruins of an important commercial city on the Great Silk Road and visit the local museum where they exhibit interesting artifacts found in the locality. We also see a collection of balbals – Turkik Tomb Stones. The tour in this historic complex can last 1-1.5 hours. Further drive to Chon Kemin gorge which is popular among adventurers, who likes rafting in the river or hiking through the forests in the valley.
    Even those who aren’t adrenaline seekers will appreciate the picturesque quality of the river winding through the deep valley, ringed by snow-capped peaks.

    Start rafting at Chon Kemin and Chui rivers.
    The Chon-Kemin River flows from the Kungey Ala-Too and Iliysky Ala-Too ranges to the Chu River. From its headwaters in the mountains to the edge of the Boom Gorge, the Chon-Kemin River flows a total of 116 km (72 miles), through a forested gorge and seven lakes.
    Much of the area around the Chon-Kemin River is protected by the Chon-Kemin State Nature National Park, which protects a total of 5000 hectares. This park was created in 1997 to protect the unique species of flora and fauna of the area, including the Tolai hare, pheasant, and fir trees. The river basin is rich in habitat and biological diversity, and has been left practically untouched.
    After rafting transfer to the village for dinner and overnight a guest house or local family.

  • Day 5 :

    9:00 – drive from Chon Kemin to Issyk Kul Lake
    10:30 – pick up in Balykchi at “Narodnyi” supermarket
    12:00 – arrival at Cholpon Ata town and visit of Open Air Petroglyphs Museum
    13:30 – continue drive to Karkara valley
    18:30 – arrival to Karkara base camp
    Today we start from Chon Kemin valley and head to Karkara valley. En route we stop in Balykchy town near Narodnyi supermarket at 10:30 to pick up everyone who want’s to take part in our further adventures.
    En route visit Ethnographical Museum and so called “Stone garden” or Cholpon Ata Petroglyphs site, the temple on the open air of the Scythians and the Usuns civilizations dated back 8-6 centuries BC till 3-4 centuries AD. The area of those stone drawing lies at the foot of Kungei Alatau Ridge with a beautiful view of the whole lake.
    Issyk Kul Lake is the second largest alpine lake in the world after Lake Titicaca in South America. Measuring 182 km long by 58 km wide, the lake appeared as a result of tectonic activity. In summer the water temperature reaches 22 degrees centigrade and you can swim in the lake enclosed on all sides by the snowy peaks of Tien Shan Mountains. With diverse flora and fauna Issyk-Kul Lake and the surrounding environments are rightly considered to be one of Central Asia most remarkable locations. After excursion further drive to Karkara valley. Base Camp “Karkara” is situated at the Eastern border between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in Kar-Kara gorge. The Camp can accommodate up to 60 People at a time. The accommodation is in tents with 2 separate beds (Twin tents). There are beds with matrasses and electricity in every tent.
    Dinner and overnight at the base camp.

  • Day 6 :

    9:00 – breakfast at the base camp
    Full day at Karkara
    Helicopter flight to South Inylchek glacier (The flight will take place depending on the weather conditions).
    After breakfast we will wait for our turn to take a helicopter flight to the South Inylchek glacier. The helicopter pad is nearby, as it is used by the alpinists and trekkers to fly over to the Heart of Tien Shan – to the South and North Inylchek glaciers, to peaks Khan Tengri (7010m) and Pobeda (7439m). We fly about 45 minutes to the Base Camp “South Inylchek”. En route we fly over the misterios Merzbakher Lake and learn more about consistance of the glacier and it’s features.
    The South Inylchek Glacier ranks as the sixth longest non-polar glacier in the world and is the largest and fastest moving glacier in Kyrgyzstan.
    “Karkara” Camp is situated in a picturesque gorge. Its slopes are covered with fir and juniper trees. There is an opportunity to go hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking for extra charge.

  • Day 7 :

    (Reserved day)
    Karkara – Karakol (morning or afternoon transfer, depends on the helicopter flight).
    In case we do not have helicopter flight to the South Inylchek on the day 2 we will fly this morning and upon return back have a transfer to Karakol town.
    If we have the helicopter flight on the day 2 we will have a transfer to Karakol in the morning.
    Upon arrival to Karakol town short sightseeing tour. Visit Dungan Mosque a unique building in a style of the Chinese pagoda which is functioning mosque up to now.
    Also you visit Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity Church built of wood without a single nail used. In the miraculous iconostasis of the church there is the famous Tikhvinian icon of Divine Mother, painted in 1897.
    Here we finished our trip. Karakol Orthodox Cathedral situated in the very center of Karakol town, so you easily can find accommodation for yourself as it’s not included.

  • Day 8 :

    9:00 – drive from Karakol town to Karakol gorge
    12:30 – picnic lunch en route
    19:00 – dinner at the tent camp
    Our guide and driver will meet you at 9:00am in front of the Church in Karakol.
    Transfer to Karakol gorge for further trek to the tent camp. (Please have some snacks or food with you for lunch for this day; Lunch box from the company is also available for extra charge). The gorge has a length of 40 km and it is adjacent to the ridge Terskey Ala-Too.
    At the top of the gorge in summer operates the mountaineering camp. Peaks, which are most popular for climbing are Djigit peak (5130 m), Karakol peak (5281 m), Przewalski peak (4283 m), Zhukov peak (4450), Thalmann peak (4460), Dimitrov peak (4450 m), Fuchik peak (4210) and Gastello peak (4350 m).
    On the slopes of Karakol gorge grow buckthorn, barberry, briar, mountain flowers and of course thick meadow grass. With increasing of the altitude they are replaced by spruce and juniper forests. The composition is completed with subalpine and alpine landscapes. Fauna of the gorge is also amazing.
    Here you can see mountain goats, deer, lynx, wild boar, snow leopards, wolves and eagles. The highland part of the valley hides many beautiful places such as mountain lake and waterfall.

  • Day 9 :

    08:00 – breakfast
    08:30 – start the trek to Ala Kul Lake
    12:30 – picnic lunch at Sirota hut
    19:00 – dinner at the tent camp
    After breakfast start our trek to Ala Kul lake.
    Lunch picnic at Sirota hut.
    The pearl of Terskey Ala-Too hidden high in the mountains is a glacial lake Ala-Kul (translated from Kyrgyz as “the Motley Lake”). It is situated at the altitude of 3532 m in the pass of the same name.
    The lake is quite small. It occupies an area of less than 1.5 sq. km, but its depth can reach over 70 m. Lake Ala-Kul is situated in a colorful bowl of rocky ridges with white tops. There are two ways to get to the lake: through the pass or traveling from the valley Altyn-Arashan.
    Alpine cold, the sun shining brightly and the rocky shores of Lake Ala-Kul allow the traveler to feel like somewhere at the edge of the world, in the realm of peace and tranquility.

  • Day 10 :

    08:00 – breakfast
    08:30 – start the trek to Altyn Arashan gorge
    12:30 – lunch picnic en route
    16:00 – drive to Karakol town
    After breakfast descent down to Altyn Arashan gorge.
    Lunch picnic en route.
    Probably the most popular destination from Karakol is the hot-spring development of Altyn-Arashan (Golden Spa), set in a postcard-perfect alpine valley at 3000m, with 4260m Palatka Peak looming at its southern end.
    Much of the area is a botanical research area called the Arashan State Nature Reserve, which is home to snow leopards, although the only animals you’re likely to see are the horses and sheep belonging to local families.
    Upon arrival to the camp you can enjoy hot springs (self pay)and rest your muscles after the long trek.
    A vakhtovka (old Russian military car) will be waiting for the group at 4pm in front of Ak Sai tent camp for transfer to Karakol town.

  • Day 11 :

    09:00 – drive from Karakol town to Djety Oguz gorge
    10:00 – hike up to the waterfall
    12:30 – lunch picnic in gorge
    14:00 – biking down to the main road
    17:00 – drive to Bokonbaevo village
    19:00 – dinner with a local family
    We start our tour at 8:30am in front of Karakol Orthodox Cathedral. Today we head to the picturesque gorge Djety Oguz, where we will be able to hike or mountain bikes. Many different hiking opportunities of easy and difficult levels. There is a beautiful waterfall that you can visit and rest in the shade of the alpine spruces having tasty picnic lunch. Djety Oguz in kyrgyz means “Seven Bulls”. This picturesque gorge is named so because of the red rocky sand formations covered with forests of Tien Shan spruces. As you approach the valley, you pass another rock formation, which resembles a “broken heart” and legend says that this is the heart of a beautiful woman who died of a broken heart after two suitors killed each other fighting over her.
    We drive up the main gorge along the winding Djety Oguz mountain river. Pass through the canyon, cross 5 bridges and hike up to the closest waterfall that impress till the deepest corners of your soul by its beauty. On the way you visit some yurts of the local nomadic families.

    Descent down to the gorge for lunch picnic at birch grove. At 2pm after all the instructions and safety tips given by professionals we start cycling to the main road. The challenging rout lies through the beautiful gorge, mountain river and next to the yurts of local nomads.
    The transport is waiting for us at the main Karakol – Bokonbaevo road for further transfer.
    Drive to Bokonbaevo village for dinner and overnigth at a local family’s house.

  • Day 12 :

    09:00 – drive from Bokonbaevo to Kyzart village
    12:30 – lunch in Kochkor village
    14:00 – further drive
    19:00 – dinner with local family in Kyzart
    Our guide and driver will pick you up from the main office of CBT in Bokonbaev village at 09.00 am. Head to the Kochkor village along the south shore of Issyk Kul Lake.
    Incredibly beautiful Issyk Kul Lake awaits us to hypnotize by the unique nature, rich history and friendly inhabitants.
    Issyk Kul Lake has a tectonic origin with the length reaches 182 km, and width is 58 km, maximum depth is up to 668 m. Extremely deep and nicely warm, over the centuries the lake has been something of an oasis in this inhospitable mountain environment. With diverse flora and fauna Issyk Kul Lake and the surrounding environments are rightly considered to be one of Central Asia most remarkable locations. On the way make a stop at Kochkor village to visit local souvenir shop and have a lunch. After lunch further drive to Kyzart village which is located in Naryn region and lies at altitude of 2991 m above sea level. Dinner and overnight at a home stay.

  • Day 13 :

    08:00 – breakfast
    09:00 – horseback riding
    13:00 – lunch picnic
    19:00 – dinner in yurt camp
    Today we start our two days horseback riding trek to Son Kul lake. After breakfast head to Tulpar Tash yurt camp via Uzbek pass. The trek is 20 km, 6-7 hours ride.
    Lunch picnic on the way. This horseback riding grants you lots of unforgettable impressions and lifetime memories. Experience the breath taking natural sights, real life of nomads and horseback riding in Kyrgyzstan.
    From Uzbek pass a beautiful panoramic view to Son Kul lake opens up. Upon arrival to Tulpar Tash dinner and overnight in the yurt camp.

  • Day 14 :

    08:00 – breakfast
    09:00 – horseback riding
    13:00 – lunch picnic
    19:00 – dinner in yurt camp
    After breakfast continue our horseback riding.
    Ride 19 km, 6-7 hours from Tulpar Tash to Kambar Ata. From there we are transferred to Tuulga Tash yurt camp by minibus. Lunch picnic on the way.
    Son Kul is a fabulous mountain lake located in the Tien Shan Mountain Range at an altitude of 3016m. Son Kul is used by the shepherds from the Kochkor, Naryn and At Bashi regions as a jailoo – a pasture during the summer months. It is considered the pearl of Kyrgyz djailoos. The route to Son Kul winds through mountainous terrain until it seems to disappear into the very sky itself. This is probably why Son Kul is translated from Kyrgyz as “the last lake”. Dinner and overnight in the Ak -Sai yurt camp.

  • Day 15 :

    09:00 – breakfast
    10:00 – drive to Bishkek
    After restful morning and breakfast drive to Bishkek city via Kalmak Ashuu pass and Boom gorge. Upon arrival to Bishkek guide and driver drop you at the main Ala Too Square. Here is the end of the program.
