he city of Kathmandu is named after Kasthamandap temple, that stood in Durbar Square. In Sanskrit, Kastha (?????) means "wood" and Mandap (/?????) means "covered shelter". This temple, also known as Maru Satal (in ?Newar language?), was built in 1596 by King Laxmi Narsingh Malla. The two-storey structure was made entirely of wood, and used no iron nails nor supports. According to legend, all the timber used to build the pagoda was obtained from a single tree.
The colophons of ancient manuscripts, dated as late as the 20th century, refer to Kathmandu as Kasthamandap Mahanagar in Nepal Mandala. Mahanagar means "great city". The city is called "Kasthamandap" in a vow that Buddhist priests still recite to this day. Thus, Kathmandu is also known as Kasthamandap. During medieval times, the city was sometimes called Kantipur. This name is derived from two Sanskrit words - Kanti and pur. Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Kathmandu Arrival

Pashupatinath Temple

Pick-up from international airport by our representative & Transfer to Hotel, Then briefing about your program after check in to hotel goes to half day sightseeing of Pashupatinath Temple, Buddha Stupa overnight at the Hotel.
Day 2

Kathmandu - Pokhara (210 Km 6-7 Hours)

After Breakfast check out form hotel then drive for Pokhara enjoy of scenic view in way. on the way visit at Manakamana Temple & Continue drive to Pokhara overnight at the Hotel.
Day 3

Pokhara City Sightseeing

After breakfast Pokhara half day sightseeing of Davis fall, Gupteshower cave, Tal Barahi temple, Vindabasini Temple, evening visit lake side area overnight at the Hotel
Day 4

Pokhara - Chitwan Sauraha (4 Hours)

After Breakfast Drive to Chitwan. Check in at the Hotel / resort & takes buffet Lunch then hotel will be given briefing about the jungle Activities After that Tharu Village tour to a nearby ethnic Tharu village where you will learn more about the life and Lifestyle of the Tharus, after dinner culture program (Tharu Stick Dance) overnight at the Hotel / Resort.
Day 5

Full Day Jungle Activities

Morning Wakeup call. After Breakfast Canoe ride on the Rapti River with bird watching & Jungle walk, Visit to Elephant Breeding Centre, After lunch Elephant Ride, bird watching. Back to hotel / Resort. Panoramic Sunset view from hotel, on the bank of the Rapti River evening Dinner at hotel/ resort Overnight stay in Chitwan.
Day 6

Chitwan - Kathmandu

After Breakfast drive back to Kathmandu After check in at the Hotel goes to half day city sightseeing of Swoyambhu know as Monkey Temple & Kathmandu Durbar square where you will also Visit the Kumari & Museum overnight at the Hotel
Day 7

Departure

After Breakfast as per your flight time you will drive to International Airport.

Hotel standard Check-In / Check-out time 1200 hrs noon but at some hotels it is 1400 hrs.
