Rich in colonial buildings, the village maintains beautiful churches. Tibetan culture adds a unique touch to this peaceful setting. The city’s cool climate has many summer visitors. The stunning forest paths provide a spectacular view of wooded hills, waterfalls, springs, and rivers. In the distance, River Ravi navigating its course adds a panorama. The Mighty Dhauladhar has snowcapped peaks that regularly cover the horizon. The places to be visited in Dalhousie are Khajjiar, Chamera Lake, Dainkund Hill Top, Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary, Chamba Jot and many more. Lying in the shade of Dhauladhar is the wonderful city of Dharamshala. Divided into two halves – the Kotwali Bazar and the skirting markets form the Lower Dharamshala, which makes a spectacular transformation of the highlands with dense pine forests, cedar, and Himalayan oak forests around the township of Mcleodganj. Mcleodganj serves as the capital of the Tibetan government in exile. It was only after the Tibetan uprising in 1959 that His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama fled from Lhasa, choosing Mcleodganj to live in exile saw the influx of Tibetans into exile. Often referred to as the ‘Little Lhasa’ the vivid character of the city today attracts many famous people, including heads of state, filmmakers and ambassadors from all over the world. The places to be visited in Dharamshala are Dharamshala City, International Cricket Ground, Mcleodganj, Triund Trek, Kareri Lake, Indrahar Pass and more.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 Chandigarh To Dalhousie – 370kms Approx – 8 Hours

Our representative will pick you up from Chandigarh Airport / Railway Station and take you to Dalhousie. Check-in at the hotel, rest for a while and spend the evening at your leisure. The places that we recommend you to visit are Satdhara Falls, St.Patricks Church, and local market. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel. (Note: Places like Satdhara Falls and St. Patricks Church can only be visited if the departure is early around 07:00 AM).

Day 2 Khajjiar Tour – 30kms Approx

Enjoy your breakfast in the morning and head out for Khajjiar Tour. On the way the beautiful Kalatop will be visited and later on the day will be spent at Khajjiar enjoying the serene beauty of Khajjiar. Other sightseeing will also be done on this day. Head back from Khajjiar to hotel for overnight stay dinner.

Day 3 Dalhousie To Dharamshala – 130 Kms Approx – 4 Hours

Bhagsunag WaterfallGyuto MonasterySt. John in the Wilderness Church

Wake up in the morning, enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and check out before 10:00 AM. The driver will take you from Dalhousie to Dharamshala. Check-in at the hotel and head out for local sightseeing which includes Bhagsunag Temple and Waterfall, St. John in the Wilderness Church, Gyuto Monastery and Kangra Art Museum. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel.

Day 4 Mcleodganj Tour – 40 Kms Approx

Dal Lake

Have your breakfast in the morning and head out for Mcleodganj. On the way you will visit Dal Lake and enjoy rest of the day chilling at Mcleodganj. Sitting and chilling at cafes in Mcleodganj is a must. Head back to hotel in Dharamshala for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 5 Dharamshala To Chandigarh – 250 Kms Approx – 6.5 Hours

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and check out before 11:00 AM. The driver will take you back to Chandigarh Airport / Railway Station.
