On the return leg, we can take a higher route to get a spectacular view of the Khumbu icefall and the route to the south Col. We then return to Gorakshep. We will spend approximately 4 and half hours trekking up to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep. The trek is on a glacier and snow- capped rocks. Everest and many other mountain peaks that include a host of famous ones: Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and many more huge peaks. Yaks are normally regarded as four legged porters in this area due to its tough terrain which would be difficult for human porters. The town of Pheriche is also known as a highly windy town.
Hereabouts, you can see the perpendicular walls of Cholatse and Tawache. The Himalayan Rescue Association Aid Post is also located here and foreign volunteer doctors provide medical treatment to trekkers as well as local people in this area. We stay overnight at a lodge.

  • Day 10 : Pheriche-Pangboche-Kyangjuma [3,500 m/11,280 ft]: 6 -7 hrs

After crossing the prayer flag festooned bridge over the Dudh Koshi River trail, we then follow the Dudh Koshi gorge descending rapidly through the pine forests. The path eventually reaches Sanasa which is the major trail junction in the region. We stop at Kyangjuma (3570 m/11,710 ft) for a relaxed lunch & rest our weary bones. We unknowingly appreciate the gorgeous Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Nuptse with every bite. Following lunch, the trail to Namche Bazaar clings to the steep wooded slope beyond Kyangjuma, winding through several bends. We keep a lookout for wild life such as mountain goats, snow leopards, colorful pheasants, etc, while we pass through the forest by the trail. After passing a Chorten, we reach the army camp at of Namche Bazaar. We want to take a long last look (and picture!) back to Lhotse, the tip of Everest and Tengboche from here. We also visit Hillary School which is at the same site. Another set of busy and colorful monasteries, lined with prayer flags and prayer wheels, are braced along the slopes high above this traditional village. We might have our lunch near Phunki Tenga. After crossing the prayer flag festooned bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, trail then follows the Dudh Koshi gorge descending rapidly through the pine forests. • Day 12 : Trek from Monjo to Lukla (2,800m.) 4-5 hours trek.

By today we begin to get warmed up by a pleasant light breeze. Although we are traveling the same route down, we feel completely different with new views. We snap a mixture of open plains, rhododendron and pine forests, and in the distance snow covered peaks. We take time and walk leisurely today as this is the last day of our trek. We feel the Sherpa villages' impressive faith in Buddhism and culture of prayer stones and prayers flag while we walk through the villages. On arrival in Lukla, we have plenty of time to relax, stretch those tired, sore legs and recall the experiences of the last couple of weeks. We experience the conclusion of an amazing trek on a happy note with everyone back safe and sound with real happy faces! Upon arrival in Lukla, we stroll around while our leader will re-confirm our flight ticket. In the evening, we enjoy a celebration last dinner with your crew. Overnight in Lodge
