Gangtok Family Tour

Upon your arrival at the NJP/Bagdogra, you will be received by our representative with a warm smile. He will then transfer you to Gangtok. Check-in at the hotel. Freshen up and relax. The rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening, explore the MG Marg, the main street of Gangtok. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Have your breakfast and then set out for the tour of Gangtok. Start with the Bakthang Waterfalls which is quite wide picturesque. Relax here and click some pictures. After that visit Tashi viewpoint and treat your eyes with sweeping views of the mighty Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountains in the world. It is an ideal point to capture sunrise views. The next destination Ganesh Tok, a Hindu temple offering enthralling hilltop views. Next, head to the Enchey Monastery where it is believed that the protecting deities, Khangchendzonga and Yabdean reside. Now get ready for some adventure at the Ropeway, a cable car ride of around 1 km. The tour also includes other attractions- Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom, Do Drul Chorten Stupa, Institute of Tibetology, Flower Show, and Banjhakri Falls. In the evening, drive back to the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Post breakfast, drive to Namchi, a fabulous destination whose literal meaning is ‘top of the sky’. Upon reaching here you will be greeted with captivating views of the valley and the mountains. Namchi is also home to Namchi Char Dham, a pilgrimage where you witness 108 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva and replicas of 12 Jyotirlingas. Nearby is the Samdruptse Hill where boasts of the 118 feet, world’s largest statue of the Buddhist Padmasambhava, the revered saint of Sikkim. After the excursion, drive back to Gangtok. Rest of the evening at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Early morning at around 8 start your day and drive to Tsomgo Lake, a famous attraction of Sikkim. It is a stunning high altitude lake (elevation-3750 m) where you will find natural beauty in plenty. It is a 3-hour drive from Gangtok and the journey is pleasant as it offers wonderful surroundings. The lake looks gorgeous in winter when it gets cloaked in snow and gets frozen. It comes back to life in spring when its surroundings get punctuated with colourful wild flowers. It is a sacred lake visited by both Hindus and Buddhists.

After enjoying at the lake, head for Baba Harbhajan Mandir which is dedicated to a brave Indian soldier, Baba Harbhajan Singh who sacrificed his life while performing his duty. After the excursion, drive back to the hotel in Gangtok. Stay overnight at the hotel.
