Cape Town to Hermanus

(approx. 2 hours driving time; approx. 120km's)



After breakfast, you'll be collected at your hotel for the collection of your car rental in Cape Town.



Depart to the Whale Capital of the World - Hermanus. Situated on the southern coast of the Western Cape along the Cape Whale Coast Route. This seaside village promises to enchant visitors all year round - you'll wish you could stay longer!



Your evening is at leisure.

Optional Activities - You might like to take a walk along the Hermanus Coastline to see if you can spot some whales, or perhaps take a boat ride to take a closer look (optional - not included).

NOTE - The whale season runs from approx. June to mid-December, annually.

Hermanus to Oudtshoorn

(approx. 4 hours 15 minutes driving time; approx. 411km's)



Travel from Hermanus to Oudshoorn, where you will spend the night.

Optional Activities - In the late afternoon you might like to visit the famous Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn.



Upon entering the entrance chamber one is immediately conscious of the increased humidity and pleasantly warm temperature. You catch your breath as the first view of VAN ZYL'S HALL opens up before you. Ancient stalactites, aptly known as the dried tobacco leaves of Oudtshoorn, festoon the grey-blue of the limestone ceiling. The spacious hall is over 90 metres long, 50 metres wide at its widest point, and between 14 and 18 metres high. Nearly 100 metres of solid limestone roof separates the cavern from the Ridgecrest above.

Oudtshoorn - Knysna

(approx. 1 hour 40 minutes driving time; approx. 120km's)



After a leisurely breakfast, travel over the Outeniqua Mountains to the coastal town of Knysna. Started as a timber producing region, today Knysna is a popular town for artists to practice their talents.

Optional Activities - You may like to visit a neary ostrich show farm where you will learn more about this giant bird, the Ostrich Feather Industry and farming industry.

Optional Activities - You may like to head to The Featherbed Nature Reserve, situated on the Western Head in Knysna.



Perhaps enjoy a return ferry trip on the Knysna Lagoon to the western head, followed by a 4x4 vehicle and trailer ride to the Knysna heads. From here lunch will follow under a canopy of Milkwood Trees, a wonderful outing!

Optional Activities - You might like to visit Plettenberg Bay, Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, and the Elephant Park.



Monkeyland is the world's first free roaming multi--species primate sanctuary, where Birds of Eden unique two hectare dome (the worlds largest) spans over a gorge of indigenous forest.



The Knysna Elephant Park, is an extraordinary elephant experience. You will have the opportunity to interact, feed and walk amoungst the herds of African elephants.

Knysna - Port Elizabeth

(approx. 3 hour driving time; approx. 270km's)



Today you continue your quest up the Garden Route, through to Port Elizabeth.







Optional Activities - En-route you might like to stop at the Tsitsikamma National Park and enjoy a leisure stroll to the suspension bridge over the Bloukrans River.

After breakfast and check out, make your way to Port Elizabeth Airport, where you will drop-off your rental car, and check in for your scheduled flight.
