The old colonial outpost still referred to as ‘Little England’ Nuwara Eliya certainly lives up to its name. Perched 6200 feet above sea level, the climate too, adds to the illusion of one stepping into an old English town, where neat hedges, quaint cottages, and beautiful old buildings stand as serene as they did well over a century ago – the magnificent Grand Hotel presiding over them all. There is, of course, an old golf course as well as horse racing events to complete the picture. Sita Amman Temple - The prominent temple architecture will not fail to attract your attention. Ancient statues of Rama and Sita can be seen on one side of the temple. The temple today is a modern building with its paintings, statues, and pillars decorated with sculptures; all depicting the tale of Rama and Sita. Gregory Lake Nuwaraeliya - Lake Gregory, sometimes also called Gregory Lake or Gregory Reservoir, is a reservoir in the heart of the tea country hill city, of Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. Morning 5.30 AM visit Yala national park. Yala National Park is the most visited and second-largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. Yala is situated in Sri Lanka’s southeast hugging the panoramic Indian Ocean, Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and was designated a national park in 1938. Ironically, the park was initially used as a hunting ground for the elite under British rule. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammals and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents is the world’s biggest concentration of leopards. Return back to the hotel for Breakfast, After Breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Bentota. Enroute visit Galle fort, Galle Fort - The Galle Fort is the best preserved among the colonial forts in Sri Lanka. People live within the fort today and the area has a heavy population of artistic types. Evening enjoy Bentota. Turtle Hatchery You will get to see up to five endangered species of turtles hatching and crisscrossing each other. Especially for the nature lovers, this spot is considered the most enchanting place to visit in Bentota. Madu River Boat Safari This safari is a paradise coupled with rich wildlife experiences. There are over a hundred and eleven bird species to watch and click pictures. It is also a popular spot for ecologists as well as biologists.
