Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 :

  You will be transferred from hotel to the airport to catch your Lamu bound flight.? Check in at New Lamu Palace hotel or Petley's Inn for dinner and overnight.

• Day 2 :

  After breakfast proceed for a guided tour through old town of Lamu. Visit the museum and market and later take a boat excursion to Matondoni village where you will have a chance to see traditional Arab building Dhows and Swahili handicrafts. Afternoon at Manda beach followed by dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Day 3 :

  After breakfast full day boat excursion to the famous islands of Pate with old town of Faza; Kiwayu ( where you will picnic) ; Ndau and Manda toto. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

• Day 4 :

  After breakfast explore Takwa ruins with a boat excursion to Manda island followed by lunch at Manda beach Club, and finish with sunset cocktail. Overnight at your hotel.

• Day 5 :

  After breakfast morning at leisure as we wait for lunch and later depart from Lamu to Mombasa by flight and check in at Orchid bay hotel. In the evening visit the dazzling Sound and Light show at Fort Jesus. Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

• Day 6 :

  After breakfast depart for Mombasa city tour followed by lunch at Bamburi Haller Nature Park. Later depart for Diani. Visit Ukunda falconry and snake farm and later transfer to Chale Paradise Island for dinner and overnight.

• Day 7 :

  After breakfast morning at leisure and after lunch you will depart for an island guided walk followed by dinner and overnight.

• Day 8 :

  After breakfast proceed for optional boat excursion to Kisite Marine Park, Funzi and Wasini Islands. Snorkeling possible. Return to Chale Paradise Island for dinner and overnight.

• Day 9 :

  Being in Paradise you could relax, sunbathe, snorkel, swim, dive or try a real mud bath from the natural springs of sulphur dust that Chale is blessed with. You can try deep-sea fishing and diving too!

• Day 10 :

  Being in Paradise you could relax, sunbathe, snorkel, swim, dive or try a real mud bath from the natural springs of sulphur dust that Chale is blessed with. You can try deep-sea fishing and diving too!

• Day 11 :

  Being in Paradise you could relax, sunbathe, snorkel, swim, dive or try a real mud bath from the natural springs of sulphur dust that Chale is blessed with. You can try deep-sea fishing and diving too!

• Day 12 :

• Day 13 :

• Day 14 :

  After breakfast you will be transferred from Chale Island to Moi International airport to catch your Nairobi bound flight or home bound flight.

  Thanks to Anne and all the team at Amazing Memories Safaris for making our (my son and I) first trip and safari to Kenya a great experience. All the pre-trip itinerary options and selections were done very well; in fact I had initially booked to travel in March, but managed to break my leg in February, so had to change our travel dates to July. Anne reorganised the trip with no problem, finding us accommodation in what was of course an already mostly fully booked peak safari season. Our trip did not get off to the best start as we missed our connection from Europe to Nairobi due to a late incoming flight. Anne reorganised the team to pick us up at the airport very (very) early the morning after our scheduled arrival no problem. The safari part (6 nights: 1 in Treetops, 1 in Lake Nakuru, 4 in Masai Mara) all ran like clockwork, our driver John was excellent as both our guide and driver. All we had to worry about was getting to the hotel receptions each morning and afternoon, where John was always waiting, ready to go. In terms of game sightings, we saw all the Big Five and many other species, including cheetah. In the Masai Mara, we saw 28 lions, including 18 on one day, in 3 different sightings, all very close up. Of course, sometimes it is the luck of the day, but we were very happy with what we saw. While we joined the sightings where many vehicles had already gathered which is normal (for lions, leopard and cheetah - the drivers / guides keep in touch by radio to see where the action is), John also had the patience to look in many areas on our own, away from the main tracks, and this produced a leopard only a few feet from us, which we were able to enjoy by ourselves.
