Package Overview

Nelson Mandela Square: A towering sculpture of South Africa's favourite son holds court over Nelson Mandela Square. One of the largest open public spaces in the country, the Square adjoins the renowned Sandton City complex. This European styled piazza commemorates heritage and celebrates international style with the warmth of African hospitality. It draws a cosmopolitan society to its sidewalk cafes, some of the finest restaurants in South Africa and over 88 exclusive stores. The 1,000sqm Square serves as a stage for a host of local and international prestigious events. There is always a song or a dance in the air at the Square. Patrons at Nelson Mandela Square are spoilt for choice. An average of over one million local and international visitors per month delight in a heady blend of shopping that offers everything from curios to culture, art, books, jewellery and couture. You’ll revel in the sophisticated atmosphere as you wind your way through the delightful array of shops. Bruma Lake Flea Market: Is one of the biggest flea markets in South Africa, and you’ll find almost anything you can think of here. Bruma is an array of West African wood crafts, designer clothing, wire art, homemade toys, plastic gadgets, arts and crafts, curios, funky second-hand clothing, one-off fashions, furniture, textiles, and antiques from over 630 traders. Eastgate Shopping: If you’re coming to Gauteng for a little retail therapy, be sure to stop in at Eastgate, one of Johannesburg’s premier shopping centres. Located in Bedfordview, just off the highway between OR Tambo International Airport and the Johannesburg city centre, the centre has 250 stores that cater for all tastes and styles. From department stores to lavish boutiques to fast food outlets and top restaurants, this multi-storey establishment has something for everybody. It’s little wonder that more than two million people visit the centre each month. Rosebank: Its several high-end shopping malls make it a popular hangout and shopping destination for young professionals, celebrities, designers, and the gay community. Rosebank has a thriving nightlife with cafes, bars and clubs around the Design District such as Moloko, Capital Cafe, The Bank, and Latinova. The African Craft Market, and the popular Rooftop Market ("Rosebank Flea Market") are popular tourist destinations; various high end hotels are also located in the suburb. The annual Joburg Gay Pride Parade also passes through the streets of Rosebank.
