The grandeur of nature in the area of Khuvsgul lake has been likened to that of Switzerland so often by foreign tourists that it earned its nickname “the Switzerland of Mongolia”. The lake is also named as “Mother lake” by Mongolians as an honor of its beauty and the majesty.
Khuvsgul lake is surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the majestic Uran Dosh mountain and Horidol Saridag mountain range. Khuvsgul lake is the second-most voluminous freshwater lake in Asia, and holds almost 70% of Mongolia’s fresh water and 0.4% of all the fresh water in the world. The water of the lake is so fresh and pure that it can be consumed directly.
Arrival
You will fly from Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, to Murun city, the center of Khuvsgul province. After landing in Murun city, the driver with a car will pick you up from airport and take you to Khuvsgul lake. In khuvsgul lake, you will stay in a tourist camp. Overnight in tourist camp.
Camp
After breakfast in tourist camp, you will have a whole day enjoy walking along the shore of the lake, visiting a nomad family and seeing reindeers. Ship tour will be optional for you. Lunch and dinner will be served in tourist camp. Overnight in tourist camp.
Departure
After breakfast, head back to Murun city and fly back to Ulaanbaatar city.
