Ladakh Trekking Tour

Arrive Leh. Met and transfer to Hotel. Day at leisure for acclimatisation. Leh is the Headquater of Leh District and the largest Town in Ladakh region. It is located to the north of Indus River at an altitude of 11,500 ft.

Visit Phyang and Spituk and Liker O/N Camp. Phyang is 17 Kms west of Leh town and the Monastery is remarkbly built on a hilltop. It was built in th 16th Century and has about 50 monks at residence. Spituk is 07 kms to the south-west of Leh and the Monastery was built in the 11th Century.

Proceed to Likir Village from the Monastery and after leaving behind the last houses enter in an arid terrain. Start ascending towards a small passPhobe La (3580 mts), arrive at Sumdo Village, cross the River and leaving Sumdo on the right side, continue in the Valley and finally reach the summit of Charatse La (3700 mts). From the summit descent to Yangthang Village.

Walk down to the river or village houses and then walk along the river through a gorge with plantation of Apricot and Apple, reach a rough motorable road and enter into another gorge to the right side. After walking for about half an hour you will have the view of Ridzong Monastery, surrounded by mountains like a fortress. Ridzong is the most isolated monastery of all the monasteries of Ladakh. Visit the monastery and trek back to Yangthang through the same route.

Proceed to Wulley Village and ascend for one hour to Sermanchan La, another small pass in the same altitude range and then descend to Hemis Shukpachan, a big village, famous for Cedar (Shukpa). After crossing there is flat land, then steep descend to the summit of Meptek La (3720 mts). Descend for half an hour and reach Ang Village. We’ll camp near the river.

An easy trek of 01 hour leaving Tia Village on the right side. Temisgang is one of the richest villages in Ladakh. Apples, apricots, nuts are grown in plenty over here.

Pickup near the community hall of the Village and further drive to Lamayuru (3460 mts). Visit the Monastery and drive to Leh.O/N Hotel
