Maharaja Express North India Heritage Tour 8 Days

Begin day one by reporting at the pre-defined time in the lobby of the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower for a traditional welcome to regal journey on the Maharaja Express. After completing the registration, check-in and get transferred to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. On arrival, you will be offered welcome drinks and our representative will escort you to our respective cabins. In the morning, mark a visit to the Ajanta Caves – a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of India. These spectacularly cut caves date back to the 2nd century B. The Ajanta Caves house an array of Buddhist, Jain, and Hindu temples popularly known for their impressive carvings and frescoes. These caves show the scenes from the life of Lord Buddha set in the beautiful sylvan surroundings. Afterward, return to the train to relax and experience the Maharaja’s warm hospitality. Then the train will depart for Udaipur – the Lake City of Rajasthan. The stay will be onboard.

Next morning, you will find yourself in the beautiful White City of Rajasthan. After breakfast, enjoy the sightseeing tour of the city. Relish the authentic yet delicious taste of the royal lunch served at the Fateh Prakash Palace. After lunch, embark on a visit to the City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Lake Pichola, Saheliyon ki Bari, and Monsoon Palace. Later, move to the colorful local markets of Udaipur to shop for paintings, wooden crafts, and exquisite jewelry. The dinner and night stay will be aboard.

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast and lunch aboard the train, set off for a sightseeing tour of Jodhpur “The Blue City of Rajasthan” or “Sun City”. Afterward, return to the train for a luxury night stay.

On the day 5th of this tour will be to continue the journey through the desert by Maharaja’s Express, as the train reaches Bikaner. On board, enjoy breakfast while seeing the scenic views of the desert as you enter the Bikaner region. On reaching there, embark on a visit to Lalgarh Palace Museum or an excursion to the Karni Mata Temple. In the evening, enjoy a camel ride for half-n-hour in the desert followed by a cultural performance of Kalbeliya Dance and Music. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay aboard the train.

In the evening, take a leisurely walk to explore the vibrant local markets of Jaipur, offering a wide range of handicrafts, bangles, textiles, etc. Stay overnight aboard the Maharaja Express.

Upon your arrival at Sawai Madhopur Railway Station, head for a safari tour awaiting at the Ranthambore National Park. This park once primarily served as the hunting ground of Maharajas. Enjoy a jungle safari at this park allowing you to observe tigers, sambar, chital, nilagi, chinkara, sloth bear, jackal, etc. in its dense green forests. Then carry on for a journey to Fatehpur Sikri. On reaching there, embark on a sightseeing tour of its significant attractions. The abandoned town include Buland Darwaza, Panch Mahal, Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chishti, and Ibadat Khana. Later, return to the train for dinner and a comfortable night’s stay.
