Monastic Tour 2 Nights - 3 Days

Morning (Arrival in Pathankot): On arrival at Pathankot, our cab driver will receive you and take you to Prebook hotel at Dharamshala. Enjoy the scenic drive as you ascend into the hills.

Visit Norbulingka Institute (Sidhbari, near Dharamshala): (Approx. 1-2 hours) After reaching Dharamshala, head towards Sidhbari (a short drive). Visit the beautiful Norbulingka Institute, dedicated to preserving Tibetan art, culture, and literature. Explore the workshops, temples, and the serene gardens. This offers a great introduction to Tibetan Buddhism and art.

Transfer to McLeod Ganj (Approx. 30 minutes - 1 hour): Drive up to McLeod Ganj, the residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Check into your hotel.

Explore McLeod Ganj: (Late Afternoon)

Visit Tsuglagkhang Complex: This is the main temple of the Dalai Lama. Explore the various shrines and the peaceful atmosphere.
Walk around the main street, browse the shops selling Tibetan handicrafts, and soak in the vibrant cultural scene.

Evening: Enjoy dinner at one of the many cafes in McLeod Ganj offering Tibetan and international cuisine.

Night: Overnight stay in McLeod Ganj.

Morning: (Early Start)
Visit Namgyal Monastery: Located within the Tsuglagkhang complex, this is the Dalai Lama's personal monastery. Witness the morning prayers if the timing aligns and Explore Bhagsu Nag Temple and Waterfall

Transfer to Tashijong (Approx. 1-1.5 hours): Drive from McLeod Ganj towards Palampur and then to Tashijong.

Visit Tashijong Monastery: (Approx. 1 hour) Explore the serene Tashijong Monastery, known for its beautiful architecture and peaceful surroundings.

Transfer to Bir (Approx. 1-1.5 hours): Continue your journey towards Bir, famous for its Tibetan settlements and monasteries.

Explore Bir: (Afternoon)
Visit the Dzongsar Khyentse Chokyi Lodro Institute: A prominent Buddhist monastic college with stunning architecture.

Explore the Bir Tibetan Colony: Walk around the settlement, visit local monasteries, and perhaps enjoy a traditional Tibetan meal.

Travel to Billing (Approx. 30 minutes - 1 hour): Drive up to Billing, the renowned paragliding take-off point. Enjoy the panoramic views of the valley. While you might not have time for paragliding in this packed schedule, the views are worth it.

Return to Bir/Nearby Area for Overnight Stay: It's best to stay overnight in Bir or a nearby guesthouse in the Bir-Billing area to minimize travel time for the next day.

Night: Dinner and overnight stay in Bir/nearby.

Morning:
Visit the Sherab Ling Monastery: (Approx. 1-1.5 hours) Explore this beautiful and significant Kagyu lineage monastery near Bir. The architecture and artwork are impressive.

Begin your journey back to Pathankot: After visiting Sherab Ling, start your drive back towards Pathankot.
Arrival in Pathankot: Reach Pathankot in the afternoon/evening for your onward journey (train or flight).
