Day 1

Kochi (Cochin), the breathtakingly scenic state

Jewish Synagogue Dutch Palace

We will pick you up at your hotel in Kochi or Cochin International Airport and transfer you to check in to the hotel. Kochi is situated on the southwest coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, the God's Own Country. Stroll along the beach, especially at sunset with the Chinese fishing nets and sailing ships in the background, is a memorable experience. Later on take a half-day city tour of Kochi visiting the Jewish Synagogue (closed on Fridays and Saturdays), Dutch Palace (closed on Fridays) and Chinese Fishing nets. Overnight at the Hotel Casino in Kochi.

Day 2

Thekkady, India's most popular wildlife senctuary

Jewish Synagogue Dutch Palace

After breakfast at the hotel and drive to Thekkady (approx. 4.5 hours) and check in to the hotel in Thekkady. It is the most popular wildlife sanctuary in southern India, covering a large area of 777 sq. kms. The sanctuary was made a part of Project Tiger in 1973, but it is better known for the elephants. In the afternoon, proceed for a plantation tour of the Spice Village property offered by the hotel. Enjoy the remaining day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel Spice Village in Thekkady.

Day 3

Thekkady, a boat ride on Lake Periyar - Kumarakom

Jewish Synagogue Dutch Palace

After your breakfast at the hotel, your guide will pick you at the designated time for a boat ride on Lake Periyar, a man-made lake. See the wildlife on the banks of the lake between the shore and the forest edge and spot birds. Later on drive to Kumarakom (approx. 5 hrs) and on arrival we will take you to check in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel Coconut Lagoon in Kumarakom.

Day 4

Kumarakom, a scenic backwater destination

Vembanad Lake

Kumarakom is a serenely beautiful and scenic backwater destination and also a charming peninsula jutting into the Vembanad Lake. There is an old rubber plantation around the lake has been developed into a bird sanctuary. A path goes through the swamp to the main nesting area while the island in the middle of the lake can be reached by boat. Overnight at the hotel Coconut Lagoon in Kumarakom.

Departure From Kumarakom - Kochi

Vembanad Lake

After breakfast we will travel back to Kochi (approx. 1.2 hours) and drop you off at your hotel in Kochi or Cochin International Airport for your onward flight.
