Roopkund (locally known as Mystery Lake, Human Skeletons Lake) is a high altitude glacial lake at the Nanda Devi Biosphere in Chamoli, Uttarakhand state of India. It lies in the lap of Trishul massif and is famous for the hundreds of human skeletons found at the edge of the lake. The area is uninhabited, in the Himalayas at an altitude of 5,029 meters (16,499 feet) Surrounded by rock-strewn glaciers and snow-clad mountains, the lake is a popular trekking destination

Drive 210 km (10 hrs drive).
Local market and network is available.
Route:- Kathgodam - Bheem Tal - Almora - Kausani - Gwaldam - Dewal - Lohajung.

Lohargunj To Didna Village

Lohargunj to Didna Village

Trek 6.5 km.

Till ruan bagad bridge gradual descent (4.5 km).
ruan bagad bridge from Neel Ganga river.
After ruan bagad bridge 2 hours of a steep ascent to Didna Village

Day 3

Didna Village To Ali Bugyal

- Didna Village to Ali Bugyal

Trek 10.5 km. 8,045 to 11,320 ft.
Accommodation in tent.
Reach Ali Bugyal by late noon.
First half of is through oak and rhododendron forest (Steep ascent).
Second half of the trek is through big alpine meadows (gradual ascent).
