Rupin Pass Trek Tour

Arrive and transfer to Hotel and overnight stay at Hotel.

The trail ascends through a few friendly villages, and curves into a gorge. Look for apple and apricot trees along the trail. You will also pass through Barley and Potato fields before you enter a dense jungle. There is a river and a number of rivulets towards the end of the trail. You will reach Gosangu in 6 hrs. Camp overnight at Gosangu.

The trail comprises multiple steep climbs followed by gentle walks. There is a steep over-hanging trail walk which leads to a river. This long climb is followed by a descending walk through Deodar and Walnut trees up to Jhaka village. Jhaka is a small village, popularly known as the hanging village as it rests on the edge of the mountain side. Camp overnight at Jhaka.

The trail makes its way out of the village through a playground, before entering a dense fir forest. The trail passes snow bridges, dense forests, and meadows with rivulets swiftly cutting across it. Camp overnight at Saruwas thatch.

The trail from Saruwas thatch to Dhanderas is one of the best days on the entire trek. It is very diverse in landscapes taking you along a gorge, waterfalls, meadows, forests, snow bridges and forests. Silver birches (Bhoj trees) are common on this route. Collect a few bhoj patras (leaves) as souvenirs to take back home with you. The legend goes that the epic Ramayana was written on them. After 5 hrs. trek, you will reach Dhanderas thatch. Camp for the night in this beautiful seeing.

Prepare yourself for a long and grueling, yet exciting day as you trek for almost 11 hrs. at a stretch. The trail is mostly on snow fields with steep ascents and all you see for miles and miles is a perfectly white hue. Hundreds of little stone cairns line up the ridge line of the Rupin pass. Multicolor prayer flags flutter in the high winds of the pass. On your way down from the pass, it is a sharp descent to the snowline and then to the meadows of Ronti Gad. You will reach Ronti Gad camp by evening. Dive into your sleeping bags early for a well deserved rest.

The trail from Ronti gad to Sangla is a steep descent through diverse landscapes every few minutes. You will see spectacular mountain views of the Kinner Kailiash ranges while descending. As you near civilization, the trail cuts across step farms and fruit orchards. And the tour ends here.
