The Hidden City of Maruk U Tour

Meet on arrival at Yangon international airport, welcome by our tour guide and then transfer to hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast, transfer to domestic airport for departure flight to Sittwe. Arrival at Sittwe, transfer to hotel and then start sightseeing for Payagyi Temple, Cultural Museum and Sittwe Market where people come and sell their fishes and farming products. Transfer to hotel and overnight in Sittwe.

Breakfast at hotel, early morning transfer to jetty for private boat trip along the Kaladan River to Maruk U about 5 hours upstream by enjoying river life. At afternoon, arrive Maruk U, which is 15th- 16th century ancient city and it was a capital city founded by King Min Saw Mon in 1430. Today sightseeing are local market to see the ways of life and then continue visit to the ruins of the Royal Palace and the Archaeological Museum and the massive Shitthaung Temple, which built in 1535 by 1,000 architects and containing a remarkable collection of Arakanese 80000 Buddha images and reliefs. And more sightseeing to Htaukkhan-Thein Temple likes the fortress, Andaw Thein Temple, Yadanabon Stupa was built in A.D 1612. Transfer to hotel and overnight in Maruk U.

After breakfast, drive to jetty to take a boat trip to visit Chin tribal villages. On the way, you will find the creek is shallow (about half metre). Sometimes, you will have to see even if the ground of creek and surrounded by bamboo forest. There, one could get the glimpse of elderly chin women with their faces tattooed with black or green pigments, and can see their pure and sincerity way of earning and living with bamboo house in the remote area away from town. Late afternoon, return back to Maruk U and overnight. Packed lunch is highly recommended.

After breakfast, transfer to jetty to take a boat trip back to Sittwe. Arrival at Sittwe, proceed to domestic airport for fly back to Yangon. Arrival at Yangon, transfer to hotel and overnight in Yangon

Breakfast at hotel, the tour sightseeing start for visit to the old colonial-style city center with city hall, Mahabandoola Park with Independence Monument, strand road and Yangon Jetty by Car. Then continue visit to Botahtaung Pagoda and Ahma Mya Nan Nwe, a devotee to the Botahtaung Pagoda. She was known to be a dragon guarding the pagoda and Bogyoke Aung San (Scott) Market, is the most popular market (close on every Monday & Public holiday) and where you can buy luxury item, handicrafts, food stuff, clothing, jewelry, fashion and consumer goods.At afternoon, the tour visit to Chaukhtatgyi (Reclining Buddha) Pagoda a colossal reclining Buddha and continue visit to Karaweik Hall Royal barge on the Royal lake for photo stop and world famous Shwedagon Pagoda. Witness the golden dome light up sunshine at the sunset. Overnight in Yangon.
