Tsavo East / Tsavo West / Amboseli / Naivasha / Nakuru / Maasai Mara By Road - Economy Safari

Pick up and depart for Tsavo East. Drive towards the main Mombasa Nairobi highway with a short break around 1000hrs. Arrive at Tsavo East the home of the red elephants by 1400hrs. After lunch relax at the lodge until 1530hrs when you will go for the evening game drive searching for animals until 1830hrs when you return to the lodge for dinner. Animals likely include elephant, lions, cheetah, zebra, antelopes, giraffe, gazelles and many more herbivores with wildlife often seen near lodge waterholes. Continuation of activities in Tsavo East with focus on wildlife viewing in the park that is home to red elephants and many herbivores. Game viewing opportunities throughout the day with landscape generally flat for ease of photography. Accommodation at Voi Safari Lodge or similar.

Drive and do a game drive en route to Tsavo West from 0800hrs. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and check in. After lunch relax at the lodge until 1500hrs then go for the evening game drive searching for animals until 1830hrs when you return to the lodge for dinner. Animals to be seen include elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, antelopes, giraffe, gazelles and many other herbivores with possibilities of cheetah, leopard and rhino.

Arrive at Amboseli National Park known for spectacular views of snow capped Mt Kilimanjaro and large elephant populations. Amboseli covers about 400 sq km with semi arid acacia and grasses and papyrus edges in swamplands. The park supports 56 mammals including lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, zebra, hippo, black rhino, Masai giraffe and over 425 bird species. Accommodation at AA Lodge Amboseli or similar.

Full day in Amboseli with game drives and wildlife viewing focusing on large elephant populations and views of Mt Kilimanjaro. Opportunity to see a range of mammals and many bird species. Accommodation at AA Lodge Amboseli or similar.

Boat ride on Lake Naivasha en route to Lake Nakuru. Lake Naivasha lies on an alluvium covered flat in the Great Rift Valley and is flanked by extensive papyrus swamp. Bird watching and boat activities are highlights before proceeding to Lake Nakuru. Accommodation at Hotel Waterbuck or similar.

Visit Lake Nakuru National Park famous for its bird life with over 400 species and for protection of endangered black and white rhino and Rothschild giraffe. Expect to see lions, leopards, hyenas, primates and many herbivores. Accommodation at Hotel Waterbuck or similar.

Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve. At over 1500 sq km the Mara is heart of the best game viewing areas and is part of the ecosystem with Serengeti National Park. The reserve is noted for wildebeest and zebra migration and hosts abundant predators including lion, leopard and cheetah. Vegetation includes open grassland with patches of acacia woodland and riverine forests. Accommodation at Masai Manyatta Camp or similar.

Full day in Masai Mara with unlimited game drives and wildlife viewing including opportunities to track the great wildebeest migration and witness Mara River crossings.
