Tsavo East / Tsavo West / Amboseli / Naivasha / Nakuru / Maasai Mara By Road Economy Safari

Pick up and depart for Tsavo East driving towards the main Mombasa Nairobi highway. Short break around 1000hrs then arrive at Tsavo East by 1400hrs. After lunch relax at the lodge until 1530 when an evening game drive begins searching for wildlife until 1830 hours, then return to the lodge for dinner. Tsavo East is noted for red elephants and abundant wildlife. Accommodation at Voi Safari Lodge or similar.

Full day in Tsavo East National Park continuing wildlife viewing and game drives. Expect to see elephants, lions, cheetah, zebra, antelopes, giraffe, gazelles and many other herbivores often seen near lodge waterholes. The generally flat landscape offers ease of photography. Accommodation at Voi Safari Lodge or similar.

Depart Tsavo East and do a game drive en route to Tsavo West from 0800hrs. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and check in. After lunch relax until 1500hrs when an evening game drive starts searching for animals until 1830hrs, then return to the lodge for dinner. Tsavo West offers sightings of elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, antelopes, giraffe, gazelles and, potentially, buffalo, cheetah, leopard and rhino. Travel to Amboseli National Park, known for its spectacular views of snow capped Mt Kilimanjaro and large populations of elephants. The vegetation is semi arid acacia and grasses with papyrus edges in swamplands. Amboseli hosts around 56 mammal species and over 425 bird species. Accommodation at AA Lodge Amboseli or similar with opportunities for game viewing and photography.

Full day in Amboseli with wildlife viewing and photography against the backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro. The park offers populations of elephants, lions, cheetah, leopard, zebra, hippo, black rhino, Masai giraffe and many antelopes as well as extensive birdlife. Accommodation at AA Lodge Amboseli or similar.

Drive towards Lake Naivasha with activities including a boat ride on Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha lies in the Central Rift Valley, flanked by papyrus swamps, and is a popular site for bird watching and fresh water species. Accommodation as per itinerary in Naivasha.

Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park en route from Naivasha. Lake Nakuru is world famous for bird life with over 400 species including thousands of flamingoes and is a sanctuary for black and white rhino and Rothschild giraffe. Other wildlife includes lions, leopards, hyenas and many herbivores. Accommodation at Hotel Waterbuck or similar.

Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Mara is the heart of prime game viewing and forms one ecosystem with Tanzania's Serengeti. It is renowned for wildebeest and zebra migration and is home to abundant big cats and diverse wildlife. Accommodation at Masai Manyatta Camp or similar with unlimited game drives and photography opportunities.

Full day in Masai Mara with unlimited game drives. Experience wildlife viewing including the Big Five, observe wildebeest migration movements and possible Mara River crossings, and enjoy photography and close range sightings in open grassland and acacia woodland. Another full day in Masai Mara for extended game viewing and wildlife photography. Continue to explore the reserve for resident predators, herbivores and birdlife. Leisure time in the lodge in the evenings. Accommodation at Masai Manyatta Camp or similar.

Drive from Masai Mara to Nairobi and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for outbound flights. End of safari adventure.
