Not many high altitude treks in our country are accessible in the months of December, January and February, Brahmatal trek being one classic exception among them. The main reason behind Brahmatal trek to be a success among winter treks is the ample availability of snow and camping alongside frozen Bekaltal lake. To add to the grandeur is the visibility of mighty Himalayan Peaks such as the likes of Mount Trishul and Mount Nanda Ghuti in the backdrops. From the Brahmatal top, one can easily view Himalayan Peaks like Mt. Chaukhambha, Neelkanth, Panchachulli Group of Peaks etc. which is a view worth summiting. The trek to Brahmatal starts from Lohajung lying in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The trek comprises of trails passing through forests, villages, meadows, frozen lake and finally Brahmatal with high Himalayan peaks in the backdrop. It is said by local villagers that Lord Brahma meditated at the Brahmatal Lake making it a sacred lake.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Kathgodam to Lohajung,230 Km

Trekkers will be picked up from Kathgodam Railway/Bus Station at 6 a.m.
230 km ride to Lohajung in a cab through beautiful roads of Kumaon passing through Almora, Kausani, Gwaldam.
Halt at the guest house/hotel in Lohajung.
Dinner at Lohajung.
A quick introduction with team members and fellow trekkers at the guest house.

Day 2

Lohajung to Daldam ,3.5 Km Trek

Excursion from Lohajung to Daldam after breakfast, trail comprising of forest with awesom views.
The trail continues in gradual ascents and will pass through the confluence of Kali and Pindar River.
Arrival at the campsite. Hot lunch at the campsit
Evening walk around the campsite.
Evening refreshments and snacks followed by dinner at the campsite.

Day 3

Daldam to Bekaltal, 3.5 KmTrek

The trek will pass through forests of Oak and Rhododendrons before opening up to large meadows of Telandi.
Arrival at the campsite followed by lunchand rest.
Evening walk and refreshment.
Dinner and overnight stay at the camps.

Day 4

Bekaltal To Brahmatal & trek back to Daldam, 10 Kms trek

Trek to Brahmatal Top from the campsite after the breakfast.
Moderate to steep climb to Brahmatal top.
Arrival at the summit point with Himalayan peaks like Mt. Trishul, Mt. Nanda Ghuti, Mt. Chaukhambha, Nilgiri, Neelkanth in the backdrops.
Rest and packed lunch at the Summit point.
Excursion back to Daldam campsite from the summit point.
Arrival at the campsite followed byevening refreshments.
Dinner and stay at the camps.

Day 5

Daldam to Lohajung, drive toKathgodam, 3.5kms trek and 230kms drive

Excursion to Lohajung from Daldam campsite after breakfast.
Small descend trek crossing Bekaltal.
Arrival at Lohajung.
Departure from Lohajung to Kathgodam .
230 km ride back to Kathgodam via Gwaldam, Kausani, Almora,.
Expected time of arrival 7 P.M

Payments Policy

Note: One must transfer at least 30% of the total cost to confirm their booking atleast a week before the commencement of the trip. If the time of booking is less than a week from the day of commencement of the trip, full amount is payable. The remaining amount has to be paid on arrival/Day of commencement of the trip The payment can either be made in cash or through an electronic transfer NEFT/IMPS/BHIM/TEZ etc.
The percentage of amount to be refunded in case of cancellation is mentioned in cancellation policy

Note

Being a high altitude trek, this trek is suitable for climbers with good physical condition and stamina.
This is a tentative itinerary which may change as per weather conditions
We expect you to carry your rucksacks, in case if you want them to be carried by mules back pack offloading charge up to Rs. 300/bag/day is applicable
In case of any natural calamity the company will not beable to refund the trip charges, for more details check our cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy

Case1:If the trek is cancelled by The Uttarakhand Mountain Rangers
In case the trek is cancelled by the UMR due to any unavoidable Circumstances like Bharat bandh, Road block, natural
calamity, landslides etc we will provide a trek Coupon where you can opt for the same trek or a different for a period of one year. in case you want to change the trek the amount you paid will be deducted if the new trek cost is greater then the cancelled trek and if the new trek cost is less the remaining amount will be refunded.
In Case of Booking of less than 3 members and the trek is cancelled due to no further trekker available, the customer will get full refund and will get a discount coupon of 10% having validity for a year.
Case 2 : If the trek is cancelled by the customer
If the trek is cancelled by the customer prior to 45 days of booking date - 100 % of the total trek fee will be refunded i.e. no cancellation Fees.
If the trek is cancelled by the customer between 30-45 days of booking date - 70 % of the total trek fee will be refunded.
If the trek is cancelled by the customer between 15-30 days of booking date - 50 % of the total trek fee will be refunded.
If the trek is cancelled by the customer between 1-15 days of booking date - No Amount will be refunded.
Refunds are initiated and will reach to your account between 1 -14 working days of cancellation
