It is a museum narrating the touching story of how immigrants once lived in the most unpleasant conditions. These immigrants or 'sinkheh' had chosen to come to Singapore from China to earn a living and settled here. The museum depicts the various hardships they had to face.
- In the museum, the visitors can see the re-created bedrooms, kitchenettes, workshops, which also comprise of artifacts from those days.
- The visitors can also spend time watching the old videos and listening to the recorded videos.
The museum also exhibits the gloomy side of Singapore of olden days when the country had gambling dens, and secret societies also operated.
