Bhilai Steel Plant

Bhilai Steel Plant doesn’t require an introduction. It lies in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh and known as the first producer of many steel products in India. The foundation brick of this steel plant was laid in 1955 with the assistance of Russia. In the same year the Indian and Russian government signed an agreement to establish this steel plant. It contained a special condition of producing at least one million tons of steel annually.

1)    Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) is the largest producer of steel in India. Annually, it produces one million tons of steel.

2)    Many companies obtain the steel from Bhilai Steel Plant for producing the different steel items.

3)    This plant is known for the production of the railway lines in India. Laying the lines was a tough task before the establishment of B.S.P.

4)    Initially, the steel produced was supplied to different parts of the country and exported to Russia. Gradually, the growth of the plant enabled the authority to export it to the different countries as well.
