The sanctuary offers forests and savannahs and views all the way up to the Nguu Tatu Hills. Go on a 30-minute guided walk, see giraffes snatch leaves high up in the trees, spot oryxes, elands or let an ostrich come close. The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and LUMO Conservancy are two smaller parks between the giants Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Park. They offer unique game drives at night and, due to their proximity, they can be easily combined. During a safari here expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras and antilopes, among other species, as well as over 300 bird species. In the nearby Taita Hills you can also spot Kenya’s rarest (and most threatened) birds: the Taita Apalis, the Taita White-eye and Taita Thrush.

Listen to the famous story of the man-eating lions, while keeping your eyes peeled for an amazing amount of other animals; four of the Big Five (minus rhinos) together with dik-diks, zebras, giraffes, yellow baboons, cheetahs, African wild dogs, elands, gazelles, gerenuks, hyenas, jackals, and over 500 species of birds!

Sandbank visit by Ngalawa boat
Leave the busy Diani Beach, hop into a traditional wooden sailboat called ngalawa and head for an amazing sandbank in the Indian Ocean. Here you get to admire the clear blue sea and enjoy the beautiful view of Diani Beach from this stretch of sand that only becomes a paradisiac island at low tide. What to do on this hidden gem? Go snorkelling and make new fish friends or simply soak up the sun, swim, eat, repeat.
