Tarangire National Park, you’ll come across the park’s famous and larger-than-life baobab trees and elephants. These are the twin elements that give this park so much personality. There is, of course, so much more. We don’t just mean the huge populations of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras. Or the rugged landscape of rocky hills and rivers, swamps and savannah plains. You also have an excellent chance of seeing lions here – Tarangire is a real lion stronghold – and keep an eye out for leopards and cheetahs as well.
Karatu may be a busy provincial town along the road between Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater, but Eileen's Trees Inn keeps all of the noise at bay with its delightful tree-filled gardens. The large rooms here are nicely turned out and similarly quiet, and there's a restaurant for those who favor a night in. If you do want to get to know Karatu, the inn is a short walk from the town center.

Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife reserve, famous for its vast open plains and incredible concentration of animals. It is best known for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras move in search of fresh grazing, followed closely by predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The park offers year-round game viewing, including the Big Five.
Staying at Seronera Public Campsites means sleeping in one of the best wildlife areas in Africa. Seronera lies deep in the central Serengeti, and many animals wander through these grassy campsites day and night; always check your surroundings before stepping outside. There's a simple ablutions block looked after by the park authorities and the campsites can be a fun place to meet other travelers.

After lunch, begin your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The scenic drive offers wonderful views of the changing landscapes before arriving at your overnight destination.
Hang out with other travelers and swap safari stories with them when you stay with us at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite. It's a camping area high on the crater rim, and the views from here as the morning mist rises from the crater are simply wonderful. The location is also conveniently close to the main descent road down into the crater.

Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich areas. The crater floor is home to lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. After a half-day game drive and picnic lunch, you’ll drive back to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, transfer to your beach hotel and enjoy the warm ocean breeze.
