After breakfast at the hotel, depart at 9:00 AM to return to Nairobi. The drive from Mount Kenya to Nairobi takes about 3 hours. The Mount Kenya resort area offers close wildlife encounters including birds that visit the pool area such as peacocks, red crowned cranes that may peck at doors to rouse guests, and animals moving around the park viewable from an observation deck with binoculars. Guests should note optional activities at the hotel including golf, horseback riding, and visits to the animal orphanage which are at guests expense. Logistics notes include provision of an extra bed when possible, single room supplement rules, child pricing guidance, and provision of two bottles of water per person per day.

Upon arrival proceed to the hotel for lunch and then rest at the hotel or take optional activities. The day includes visits to scenic spots with full day tickets included and a visit to the animal orphanage where participants may attend an equatorial ceremony, cross the equator with local performers and receive an equatorial certificate.
