Day 1 : Pick up from Airport, Carbyn’s Cove Beach, Cellular jail and Sound and Light show
Our Oasis Team will receive you at Veer Savarkar Airport, Port Blair and will escort to the hotel, he will also assist you to do hotel check-in formalities. After check-in and little relax, you will be taken to the following places.
.Cellular Jail: This historic building was built in the 19th century to look like a wheel with seven spokes. Today only three wings of the seven remain. It took 10 years to complete. It is called ‘Cellular’ because it is “Cells beyond Cells”.
Corbyns’ Cove Beach: The Corbyns’ Cove, is a serene and unspoiled soft sandy beach, green coconut palms and pleasant blue sea. The main attractions of this beach are the inviting water sports. The Corbyns’ Cove beach, situated 8 kms from the City centre is the closest Beach from the city. This coconut- palm fringed beach, is ideal for swimming and sun bathing
Sound & Light Show: At the National Memorial ‘Cellular Jail’ you can attend the Sound & Light Show where the heroic saga of the Indian Freedom Struggle is brought alive by the means of light and sound at the jail premises, presented in English and Hindi, which takes you back to the British Era.
Day 2 : Rose , North Islands & Chidiyatappu
After Breakfast you will be escorted to Andaman Water Sports Complex to catch a ferry which will be your mate for the entire excursion to Ross Island and North Bay.
Ross Island: It was the Capital of Port Blair during British and Japanese regime, prior to India’s Independence. It was named after Sir Daniel Ross a marine surveyor. It was nick named “The Paris of the East”. It is now under the supervision of the Indian Navy. This island is an ideal destination for nature walk amidst sylvan surroundings with deer’s, peacocks and exotic birds.
North Bay: It is also called “The Gate Way to Port Blair”. This place is famous for its coral reefs, exotic verities’ of beautiful ornamental fishes and water sports activities. The breathtaking stretch of coral bed leaves you spellbound. North Bay is the foremost snorkeling point of Andaman. Apart from snorkeling and glass-bottom boat ride, scuba diving, underwater sea walk facility is also available at North Bay.
Chidiyatappu is 30 KM from main city; this place is famous for sunset view and for bird watching. Varieties of birds visit this place. The road passes through forest and small hills up to the Chidiyatappu. From Port Blair, the journey would take around one hour to reach Chidiyatappu. If you are interested to watch the sunset it is advisable to take an afternoon trip to this place. Remains of trees uprooted during Tsunami in 2004 are still present near the beach. There is no restaurant or food stall available inside the park; however, small hotels are present at the entrance. While traveling to this place sea will be to your left side. On your way you would pass through the Kalapathar, a trail of black rocks and beach. Stop here to take some pictures and proceed to Chidiyatappu.
Day 3 : Baratang
Early morning before daybreak we depart for Baratang Islands. It is approximately 110 kms away from Port Blair. It is connected through road passing through Jarawas Tribe Reserve also known as ATR Road (Andaman Trunk Road or the State High Way). We will travel through fabulous and enchanting forest in conveys to reach Nilambur Jetty (Middle Strait) from where we take a ferry for Baratang Island which is a 15mints ride. It has thick mangrove creeks on both sides followed by dense tropical forest. Major attractions at Baratang are lime Stone Cave and Mud Volcanoes.
Lime Stone Cave: They are located 15 mints away by sea from Baratang Jetty. We can reach there by dongis or small boats. The journey enthralls everyone as it takes you underneath the dense forest of mangroves plantation. Please do carry sufficient water along with you.
Day 4 : City Tour & Wandoor
One of the best, and well-maintained museums of Andaman, Anthropological Museum sheds light on the profound and informative portrait of island's local community of tribes. These tribes are considered as one of the oldest in the world. Situated at the Middle Point in Port Blair, this best sightseeing place in Andaman is a historical delight and makes the tourists explore the life of Paleolithic Islanders. The major exhibits of this museum are Jarawa chest guard, shamanic sculptures and much more. The Anthropological Museum offers the highlights of primordial eras of Jarawas, the Onges, the Sentinelese, the Shompens and the Nicobarese. In short, a museum with blessed with a plethora of reasons making it a must-visit destination in Andaman.
The Fisheries Aquarium is located close to the Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports complex. It was partially destroyed during the tsunami but has been rebuilt since. Initially a museum, it was converted to an aquarium in 1997 which now houses over 350 different species of marine life.
Once you go inside, the nostalgic feel of entering a biology lab may wash over you, what with different marine animals preserved in glass jars. One would also find on display various types of shells and corals. The aquarium also has live animals such as huge table corals, crabs, sharks and starfish.
The skeleton of a sperm whale, known for being the largest toothed whale, and life size display of dolphin and saw fish are some of the interesting sights you could take in at the museum.
All in all one would notice that it has a collection quite similar to Samudrika Naval Marine Museum. So you could give this place a miss if you are short on time.
Wandoor beach is one of the popular beaches of Andaman that lies at a distance of about 25 kms in the east of Port Blair. It is a pictorial beach and a major tourist attraction that grab visitor's attention and interest. This beautiful beach is ideal for witnessing the colourful corals and enjoying swimming. With calm and clean blue water, the beach offer soothing ambience to chill and spend quality time. There are smartly constructed changing rooms and benches built for the convenience of the visitors.
As located near Port Blair, Wandoor beach is easily accessible by the tourists visiting Andaman. If you are an adventure lover, then you can take a short trek to natural caves formed over the passage of time by high tides which enclose the beach.
Day 5 : Departure from Port Blair
Check out and pick up from the hotel and transfer to Port Blair Airport / Harbour for your onward journey, carrying wonderful memories.
