5-DAY NORTHERN TANZANIA MID-RANGE SAFARI

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzanias Northern Safari Circuit. Arusha sits at the foot of Mount Meru and is surrounded by coffee plantations and scenic landscapes. Depending on arrival time guests may relax at the lodge and prepare for the safari. The evening includes dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge before beginning wildlife exploration the next morning.

After breakfast depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, a wildlife rich destination covering nearly 3,000 square kilometers, known for giant baobab trees, vast savannah and large elephant populations. The Tarangire River attracts abundant wildlife year round including lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and many antelope species, and the park boasts more than 500 bird species. Guests enjoy an extensive game drive with opportunities for close wildlife viewing, followed by a picnic lunch, then proceed to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Depart after an early breakfast for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with one of Africas highest concentrations of wildlife including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas and the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a game drive and picnic lunch on the crater floor, then continue through scenic highlands and plains toward Serengeti National Park, famous for endless grasslands, the Great Migration and abundant predators and plains game. Arrive at camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Begin with a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, renowned for its endless plains, remarkable biodiversity and the annual Great Migration of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles. The park supports thriving populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants and many other species. Enjoy exceptional wildlife viewing during the morning, then after lunch depart the Serengeti and travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands to Karatu, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast at the lodge in Karatu enjoy a relaxed morning before transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure. Depending on flight schedules guests may unwind at the lodge or take optional activities such as a visit to Mto wa Mbu village for cultural experiences including plantation walks, local school visits and a tuk tuk or bicycle ride, or enjoy a coffee tour in Karatu if offered by the lodge. Later transfer to the airport marking the end of the safari.
