Your journey begins from Kathgodam railway station, where you are picked up in the morning. The drive winds through the Kumaon hills, passing Almora, Pithoragarh, and small scenic villages along the Kali River valley. By evening, you reach Dharchula, a culturally rich border town that shares traditions with Nepal. On arrival, you complete the necessary Inner Line Permit formalities for the restricted Adi Kailash region. In the evening, take a leisurely walk along the Kali River and experience the unique blend of Indian and Nepalese culture in the local markets. Overnight stay in Dharchula.

After breakfast, you set out for Gunji, a high-altitude settlement that serves as the main base for Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. The drive passes through Chialekh Meadows and Kutti Valley, where the landscape begins to change dramatically – with wide valleys, alpine forests, and snow-fed streams. Gunji, located at the confluence of the Kali, Kuti, and Darma rivers, is both strategic and spiritual. You arrive by evening and settle in, taking time to acclimatize to the altitude. This is the spiritual highlight of your journey. In the morning, you drive towards Nabidhang (3,980m), from where you witness the divine Om Parvat, a rare natural formation where the snow rests in the perfect shape of “ॐ”. Nearby, you visit the sacred Parvati Kund, a small glacial lake associated with Goddess Parvati, where pilgrims often collect holy water. From this route, you also get views of Brahma Parvat, adding to the mystical aura of the place. Pilgrims often meditate or sit quietly here, feeling the spiritual energy of the Himalayas. Depending on weather and arrangements, you may stay overnight at Nabidhang for a closer experience or return to Gunji by evening.

Today you embark on the journey to Adi Kailash, also called “Chhota Kailash,” revered as the abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. A drive and short trek take you to Jolingkong, where the stunning view of the Adi Kailash peak unfolds before you. Here, you also visit the Shiv-Parvati Temple, a serene site by a sacred lake, believed to be the place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati resided. The experience is deeply spiritual, with the towering peak standing as a silent witness to centuries of devotion. After darshan and some quiet time in this divine landscape, you retrace your steps back to Gunji for overnight stay.

By evening, you reach Kathgodam railway station, where your short but powerful Adi Kailash yatra concludes.
