Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Paro

    Arrival in Paro by Flight. Pick up from the Airport.
    Enjoy the beauty of lushly green valley and the traditional food of Bhutan. You can visit National Museum and Paro Dzong. Overnight stay.

  • Day 2 : Paro

    Full day sight-seeing.
    Take a drive up to Ramthanga and after a short walk we reach Taktsang Gomba (Monastery). Taktsang means 'The Tiger's Nest'. This Monastery is perched on a rocky mountain at an altitude of nearly 4000 feet. However, most of the travelers can visit only the main sit named as Taktsang Pel-Phu. According to the legends Guru Padmasambva, founded this monastery during eight Century. Drive back to the town. Overnight stay.

  • Day 3 : Drukyel Dzong

    After breakfast drive to Drukyel Dzong, a starting point of this trek to Shana (2,890 Sq.m). This trail starts from the dirt track and passes through the wide richly cultivated valley, mountains covered up with forest following the Paro Chu. The trail follows the east side of the river and gently through the forest rich in Flora & Fauna. On trekking for nearly 3 hours we will reach the army camp where the permits will be verified. On further trekking through the forest we will reach the campsite. Overnight in Camp.

  • Day 4 : Soi Thangthangka

    After breakfast start the trek to Soi Thangthangka (3,575 Sq.m). This trail although proves to be hard but it is also a rewarding trail. The altitude gain is beyond the limit and the trail after lunch is rough and stony. Following the river Upstream we pass the Shana Bridge. This trail covers a short steep climb and descent towards a bridge located at an altitude of 3,250 Sq.m. This trail passes through the forest full of Maple, Birch, Fir, Larch and Blue Pine. After a short climb we reach Sevende Jam, a place with a Big Chorten and a wonderful sight of Mt. Chmolhari towards north. On walking further for about 40-50 minutes we reach the camping site. Overnight stay in Camp.

  • Day 5 : Jangothang

    After breakfast and a delightful sight of Mt. Chomolhari we start the trek to Jangothang (4,044 Sq.m), a base camp to Mt. Chomolhari. This trail starts from the forest and gradually climbs up to beautiful valley passing by Tegethang (A winter home for Yak herders). Overnight stay in Camp.

  • Day 6 : Discover Jangothang

    A Base camp to Mt. Chomolhari.
    Today you can go for short hike towards east up to the twin Lakes of Tsho Phu. You will have a wonderful sight of a Herd of Himalayan Blue Sheep. Overnight stay in Camp.

  • Day 7 : Lingshi

    After breakfast we start the trek to Lingshi (4,010 Sq.m) through the steep switchback trail climbing towards the exit of the valley and through the Pass. It is a long climb for about 3-4 hours before we reach a windy pass 'Nyelela Pass' (4,890 Sq.m) also known as 'Sleepy Pass'. From here, Mt. Takaphu dominates the view towards north and Ganchen Ta or Tiger Mountain towards east. Now the trail descends passing through a narrow Gorge with a small river crossing. Overnight stay in Camp in the river bank.

  • Day 8 : Shodu

    Today we will start early as we have a long trail to be covered to reach Shodu (4,080 Sq.m). Today we will pass through the Rhododendron forest on the ridge and you will have a view of blue water No Chhu beneath the ridge. Todays climb rises up to the altitude of 4,450 Sq.m and then we cross the main river into the valley. After several hours of walk we reach a big Cairn on the top of the Yale La Pass (4,950 Sq.m) with the views of snowy mountains around Lingshi and Basingthang Peak. Now the trail descends which joins the Jaradinthang Chu and on following the river trail we reach to our campsite in Shodu. Overnight stay in Camp.

  • Day 9 : Barshong

    Today, after breakfast we start the trek to Barshong (3,720 Sq.m). This trail passes through the deserted Military camp following the river through the Lime stone Valley. On crossing the river there is a beautiful sight of giant rocks and the water falls. You have to be careful enough to cross this trail as the park rangers has recorded Tigers and Snow Leopard moving around. Moving on for nearly One and a half hour you reach the better campsite. Overnight stay in Camp.

  • Day 10 : Dodina - Thimpu

    Today we will trek to Dodina via Dolam Kencho (3,290 Sq.m). The trail covers the steep descent on a rocky path ending at the Thimpu Chu. The trail continues uphill then descends to a side stream and a vertical cliff until it finally meets at Dodina. From here we take a drive to Thimpu. Overnight stay.

  • Day 11 : Thimpu

    A full day sight-seeing.
    Visit The Memorial Chorten, National Library, The indigenous Hospitals where traditional medicines are still practiced, Handicraft Emporium where Bhutanese Textiles are displayed for sale, Woodcraft and Painting Schools which still preserves the traditional Art & Craft, Tashicho Dzong - the main Secretariat building, the office of the King and the Throne room; Simtokha Dzong - one of the oldest fortress of Bhutan built in 1629 A.D which houses the largest Monastic schools of Bhutan. Overnight stay.

  • Day 12 : Paro

    After late lunch we will drive to Paro. Overnight stay.

  • Day 13 : Paro

    Today we will explore left out ideal places in and around Paro.

  • Day 14 : Departure

    Drive to the airport.
