Arrival Calcutta, the city of joy. After check in to hotel drive to Mother Teresa’s tomb, kali temple, victoria memorial, Jain temple and the ghats.

Early morning visit the flower market at Howrah bridge, later transfer to airport to board domestic flight to Jorhat of Assam. Evening visit a Vaisnavite monastery. Overnight at hotel.

Drive to Kaziranga national park. Declared as an unesco heritage park, one can visit the park on elephants to track the one horn rhinos. Overnight in Resort

Early morning on elephant to see the rhinos, gours, cheetals and wild boars, return to resort for breakfast. After drive to North Laxmipur, enroute missing villages and traditional Assamese villages. ON at hotel

Enroute small trek to Nishi tribal villages, meet the chief of village, later drive onward to zero the Apatani tribal country. ON at hotel

Full day explore the Apatani land. The women of this tribe plug the hole of their nose with wooden block and tattoo elaborately their face. The walk is enjoyable as you pass through lush green rice fields, cemeteries traditionally made from bamboos. Overnight hotel

Drive to Daporijo the Tagin tribe, enroute visit the Hillmiri villages. Overnight sleep in one of the Tagin house. The Tagins and Galos live in large bamboo houses, it will be a good experience to sleep in the bamboo house with them . Dinner cooked by the tribal family

Drive to along, through steep mountainous roads , overlooking some of the gorgeous landscapes, visit galong villages. Reach at along. Overnight in hotel

Drive to Pasighat, enroute Adi Miniyong tribal villages. The Miniyongs were a warrior group who used to raid the other tribal villages in the past. Later drive to Pasighat

Drive to Bogivil river ghat to cross over to Dibrugarh. Evening stroll to the local market on hotel

On this day we will cross the assam border to enter Nagaland, our first encounter will be with the Konyak nagas. Konyaks were the head hunting tribe The last head hunting was reported to be in 1993. Our destination is Mon , the torturous road passes through dense and barren Naga hills, sun sets very fast in Naga hills. We reach Mon which resembles any frontier small town, it has no hotel but a couple of guest houses. On this day we will visit the village Mon and the chiefs (called as Ang) house

We drive some 40 km to Longwah the border of Myanmar, the Angs house is in no mans land, they say the kitchen in Myanmar and the bed chambers in India. We visit the heavily opium smoking Ang who will be proud to show various trophies ( killed animals) brass motifs etc., visit the Morung(youth dormitories with its war drum, later drive back to Mon, enroute another Konyak village.

Drive back to Dibrugarh City. We spend the half morning in the Konyak villages.
