Gangtok - Lachen - Lachung Tour 5 Nights 6 Days

Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), you will be greeted by a tour representative and transferred to your hotel in Gangtok. The journey takes you through lush green hills and along the Teesta River. After checking in, you are free to relax or take a stroll along M.G. Marg, the heart of the city, to soak in the local atmosphere.

After an early breakfast, you will begin your journey to Lachen, a remote and picturesque village in North Sikkim. The drive is a scenic adventure, passing through stunning waterfalls like the Seven Sisters Waterfall and the confluence of the Teesta and Lachen rivers at Chungthang. Lachen, with its unique wooden houses and peaceful ambiance, is the gateway to some of Sikkim's highest-altitude wonders.

Today is the highlight of the North Sikkim trip. You will start very early in the morning to visit Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. Located at an altitude of 17,800 feet, this sacred lake offers a truly surreal and breathtaking view, with crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The air is thin here, so it's a short visit.

Afterward, you will drive back to Lachen for lunch and then proceed to Lachung, another charming mountain village.

After breakfast, you will visit the beautiful Yumthang Valley, also known as the "Valley of Flowers." Depending on the season, you will see a vibrant carpet of rhododendrons or a snow-covered wonderland. The valley is surrounded by imposing mountains and a tranquil river.

(Optional Excursion: Zero Point) You can opt to visit Yumesamdong (Zero Point) for an additional charge, where the road ends and the majestic mountain views are spectacular.

After exploring the valley, you will drive back to Gangtok.

Today, you will take an exciting excursion to the sacred Tsomgo Lake (also known as Changu Lake) and Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir. Tsomgo Lake is a glacial lake located at 12,400 feet, where you can enjoy a yak ride or simply admire its serene beauty. The Baba Mandir, a revered shrine, is located a short drive away.

(Optional: Nathula Pass) Subject to permits and weather conditions, you can also extend your visit to the historic Nathula Pass, the Indo-China border. This requires a special permit and is typically an extra cost.

On your final day, after breakfast, you will check out and proceed for a half-day local sightseeing tour of Gangtok. This can include:

Do-Drul Chorten: A beautiful stupa with 108 prayer wheels.

Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: A museum and research center dedicated to Tibetan culture.

Flower Show: A vibrant display of Sikkim's famous orchids and exotic flowers.

After the tour, you will be transferred to Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station for your onward journey, leaving with unforgettable memories of Sikkim.
