Arrival in Paro & Transfer to Thimphu
Your journey begins with a breathtaking flight into Paro International Airport (PBH), considered one of the most scenic airport landings in the world. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by your guide and transferred to Thimphu, the capital city. After checking in, you'll begin your local sightseeing, which may include a visit to the Buddha Dordenma, a massive bronze statue of Buddha Shakyamuni that offers a panoramic view of the Thimphu valley.

Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass
Today, you'll take a scenic drive to Punakha, the former capital. On the way, you'll stop at the famous Dochula Pass, located at 3,100 meters. On a clear day, the pass provides a stunning 360-degree view of the Eastern Himalayas. You'll also see the 108 memorial stupas known as the Druk Wangyal Chortens.
After descending into the warm Punakha valley, you'll visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, also known as "The Palace of Great Happiness." This fortress is beautifully situated at the confluence of two rivers, the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu.

Punakha to Paro
After breakfast, you'll drive back to the serene Paro valley. Upon arrival, you can check into your hotel and then explore the area. A popular visit is to the National Museum, housed in a circular watchtower (Ta Dzong) overlooking the Paro Dzong. The museum showcases an impressive collection of Bhutanese artifacts, thangkas, and stamps. You can also visit the Paro Rinpung Dzong, a fortress with beautiful traditional architecture and ancient murals.

The Iconic Tiger's Nest Hike
This is the highlight of your tour! You'll embark on a challenging but rewarding hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery, more commonly known as the Tiger's Nest. Perched precariously on a cliffside, 900 meters above the Paro valley, this sacred monastery is an iconic symbol of Bhutan. The hike takes about 4-5 hours round trip, but the views and the spiritual experience are well worth the effort.

Departure from Paro
After a final breakfast, you'll have some free time for last-minute souvenir shopping in Paro town. Afterward, you will be transferred to Paro International Airport for your departure, leaving with cherished memories of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
